My name is Sayed Najibullah Hashimi, I have worked as an interpreter/translator for the US armed
forces based in Afghanistan for almost (4) years, and I have worked as a national language officer for
European Union Police mission – Afghanistan for (1) year. Due to my faithful services to the US
government I am awarded a Special immigration Visa. I am currently living in the United States, and I am
a green card holder, and at the moment I am unemployed. I am enthusiastic to work as a
translator/interpreter for employers who are looking for skilled linguists in English, Pashtu, and Dari
languages. By utilizing my professional skills, I am able to work at any challenging environment that
requires the English, Pashtu, and Dari linguistic services, whether its translation, Role playing,
interpretation or any other relevant responsibilities to the above mentioned languages. I am looking
forward to an opportunity, so that I can prove you my professional linguistic skills and abilities.
Work Experience
I have worked with the US armed forces based in Afghanistan as a linguist, since the beginning
of July 2007 almost to the end of 2011. I worked for MEP Company. I have taken the following
listed responsibilities, and fulfilled them as desired.
Worked for the European Union Police Mission - Afghanistan (EUPOL) as a national language
officer from October 2011 till October 2012, before coming to the United States of America.
Worked for Asmaie Group of Companies as a freelancer for a year.
Taught English Language in different English Language centers in Kabul city, After the primary
teaching period I entered to a stage where I could run an Educational center under my own
supervision, therefore I established a Language Training Center in Khoshal Khan 5th district of
Kabul city under the name of (Afghan Challenger English Language Center) and ran that institute
for almost three years.
Responsibilities:
Provided operational linguist support to U.S. Army operations in Afghanistan
Interpreted during interviews, meetings, and conferences for senior U.S. Afghan National army,
and Afghan National Police officers
Interpreted and translated written and spoken communications
Transcribed and analyzed communications
Performed document exploitation
Scanned, researched, and analyzed foreign languages documents for crucial information
Identified and extracted information components to meet military information requirements
Provided input for reports and many other relevant tasks
Read through original material and rewrote it in the target languages, ensuring that the meaning
of the source text is retained
Used specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for
terminology and words used
Used appropriate software’s for presentation and delivery
Researched legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation
Communicated with superiors to discuss any unclear points for better quality of the assignments
Proofreading and editing final translated versions
Provided well-expressed final version of the translated text, usually as a word-processed
document
Used the internet and email as research tools throughout the translation process

Since the beginning of my job as an interpreter/Translator with Mission Essential Personnel (MEP) I have
had lots of achievements such as recommendation letters, certificates, admiration letters and
important of all I have earned two Medals from the Head Quarter of Combined Training Advisory Group
of Afghan National Army. I have received documents from the European Union Police mission –
Afghanistan head quarter, which proves my services time with EUPOL mission.
Educational Background
Elementary Education
Completed elementary studies at Ghazi Ayoub Khan elementary school.
Graduated from Nadirya High school in 2004 with a baccalaureate degree.
Graduated from Hewad English Language Center in 2004.
Higher Education
Studied the Faculty of Law for one and half year in Kateb institute of higher education.
Key Qualifications
Ability to translate from English to Dari, Pashto, and vice versus.
Ability to translate written text, idiomatic text, and provide verbal interpretation at any level
required.
Ability to run meetings, conferences, and briefings
Ability to provide linguistic services for high ranking military officers, such as Major, LTC, COL,
BG, MG and other high ranking officials during meetings, conferences, briefings or, other
circumstances when linguistic services are required.
Having previous linguistic experience with Afghan and US army high ranking officers, in terms of
training, military missions, supply missions, and cultural awareness.
Ability to work overtime if needed.
Ability to meet tight deadline in order to support the working team.
Ability to Implement technological approaches to subject material, and research resources on
the Internet for high quality and comprehensive translation.
