|Summary |
| |Objective |
| |To obtain a full time position in the field of Mechanical Engineering and |
| |Design. |
| |Relevant Personal Attributes |
| |Recent graduate with nearly two years of Mechanical Engineering and Design |
| |industry experience. |
| |Strengths: Part and system design with concentrations in manufacturability, |
| |ease of assembly, and GD&T. |
| |Skills: Many platforms of CAD as well as engineering analysis software and |
| |testing processes and equipment. |
| |Highly driven, goal oreinted, and excels in a team environment. |
|Industry Experience |
| |Plug Power - Mechanical Designer |Jun. 2012 |
| | |Dec. 2012 |
| |Worked as a design engineer on hydrogen fuel cell systems for material |
| |handling vehicles. In that engine, much of my work was in the mechanical, |
| |electrical and thermal aspects of the Lithium-Ion battery system for |
| |production units including its layout, part design, and engine integration. |
| |This has involved prototype development, engineering changes, bill of |
| |material updates, cost reduction, and testing. The testing aspect was |
| |comprised of managing the requirements of UN testing for shock and vibration|
| |as well as thermal management on a micro and macro scale. |
| |Southco - Mechanical Eng. Intern |Mar. 2012 |
| | |Jun. 2012 |
| |Worked for the Quick Turn/ Quarter Open division of Southco. |
| |Responsibilities included tooling design, process optimization, and material|
| |management in a manufacturing environment. The division works in cold |
| |heading, cold rolling, and swaging among other steel forming processes, each|
| |of which I became familiar with during my employment. |
| |Parker Hannifin - Mechanical Eng. Intern |May 2011 |
| | |Aug. 2011 |
| |Worked for Parker Hannifin's Rotary Seal and Bearing Isolator division. |
| |Carried out endurance, performance, and material comparison tests of various|
| |rotary seal designs. Provided customers with design proposals as well as CNC|
| |operators with manufacturing details. Also headed a project to update legacy|
| |designs to current design standards and performed material identification as|
| |well as spec. verifications. |
| |General Dynamics (ATP) - Mechanical Eng. Intern |Sep. 2010 |
| | |Feb. 2011 |
| |Worked with a team of drafters to update part drawings of a gun assembly in |
| |ProEngineer for the United States Air Force. Also worked hands on with the |
| |design, fabrication, and testing of passive armor systems. This included |
| |material testing, contributing design improvements, and refining the armor |
| |building process for quality and reproducibility. |
|Education |
| |Degree |
| |Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY Bachelor of Science |
| |in Mechanical Engineering earned May 2012 |
| |GPA: 3.031/4.0 |
| |Relative coursework and projects |
| |Elected Courses: Design for Manufacture, Vibrations I, Engineering |
| |Properties of Materials, Composite Materials |
| |Senior Design Project: Worked as the Mechanical/Controls Integration |
| |Engineer in a team environment to design a biomimetic insect using McKibben|
| |style pneumatic muscles. The outcome of the project was an anatomically |
| |correct ant capable of locomotion with self-contained systems. |
|Skills |
| |Software: Ansys, Ansys Workbench, ProEngineer, LabView, Mathematica, Maple, |
| |MATLab, Autodesk Inventor, Wireless Pro, AutoCAD Lite, RF-Vu, SolidWorks, |
| |Avante, Windchill (Intralink) |
| |Equipment: Lathe, Mill, Drill Press, 200 Ton Platen Press, Signal Generator,|
| |Oscilloscope, Resin Infusion Systems, Various Hand Tools and Wood-working |
| |Tools |
