The project includes the study about ever increasing problems in underground oil or gas pipelines can have severe environmental and economic consequences.Modeling provides some relief by simplifying and optimizing installation, maintenance and repair. Research is being conducted to determine and predict the corrosiveness of the soil, corrosion mechanisms in the ground and to develop effective protection techniques such as coatings for buried metallic structures.
