|Achievements / Projects |

|Various |Managed FPSO / FSO / Platform topsides, subsea, pipeline and |

| |refinery specialist services. Pressure testing, helium leak |

| |detection, pigging, vacuum drying, valve testing, flare |

| |system extinguishing, inerting of platform and refinery |

| |systems. |

| |At the request of the New Zealand Shipping Federation |

| |delivered an IRCA approved course in ISM auditing to |

| |representatives of shipping followed by a course designed for|

| |those acting as Designated Persons Ashore under the ISM Code.|

|2008- |Incident Controller and subsequently on-scene Marine Adviser |

|2010 |to Samoan Government at the request of NZ Foreign Minister in|

| |respect of major shipping/pollution casualty. |

| |Advice to NZ Ministries and Prime Ministers Cabinet in regard|

| |of domestic offshore industry regulation review and |

| |international best practice. National legislation currently |

| |under review as a result. |

| |On my own initiative produced a practical risk based strategy|

| |and implementation plan for audit of maritime and offshore |

| |industry on behalf of Government to fulfil national and |

| |international obligations. Subsequently carried out the |

| |implementation. |

|2005 - |Recognising a necessity I designed and implemented a computer|

|2008 |based planned maintenance and defect reporting management |

| |system to more effectively manage oil and chemical tanker |

| |fleet (80 vessels). Implementation significantly improved |

| |fleet commercial performance. Software design since taken |

| |over by commercial interests and available worldwide. |

| |Designed and implemented a corporate wide safety management |

| |system for a fleet of over 160 vessels. I also convinced the |

| |Board to introduce an industry "Best Practice" safety |

| |observation programme and culture change initiative. I drove |

| |the project by designing the entire process, managing the |

| |implementation, engaging and training all senior staff. |

| |Resulted in a significant positive influence on corporate |

| |reputation in addition to a long term safety performance |

| |improvement. |

|2003 |Project engineering, management and site supervision of "Fast|

| |Track" dry dock conversion and refurbishment of |

| |"Flotel"/Construction Barge in West Africa for major FPSO |

| |contract offshore. A second, similar project involved a |

| |platform service vessel. |

|2001-2003|Produced a database of company assets for all |

| |facilities/locations across West Africa and instigated a |

| |programme of planned maintenance and inspection to ensure all|

| |equipment was not only traceable but contractually and |

| |legally compliant. Refurbished a dive spread and certified it|

| |to IMCA standards at minimal outlay, this became a major |

| |revenue stream in the company portfolio. Bid preparation to |

| |oil companies for integrated services onshore / offshore. |

| |Introduced the International Safety Management System (ISM) |

| |into the fleet and acted as Designated Person Ashore under |

| |the Regulations. |

| |Project managed and engineered the sub-sea repair of a FPSO |

| |CALM buoy Equatorial Guinea, West Africa. Contract scoping |

| |and negotiation, mobilisation of divers, dive spread, |

| |construction barge, tug, towage approval, design of the on |

| |site mooring system, preparation and approval of the work |

| |scope and safe management procedures including ROV operations|

| |and inspection of works . Travelled to site and directly |

| |supervised the job. |

|1996-2000|Project engineered the shipment of over 200 items in excess |

| |of 100 tonnes from places of manufacture world-wide to the |

| |construction site in rural India. Equipment value in excess |

| |of $200 million, largest piece 2000 tonnes. Production of |

| |cargo securing manuals and method statements. Logistics |

| |planning of shipments and advice on vessel chartering, |

| |vetting of vessels and direct supervision of load |

| |outs/unloading. Co-ordination with loading, erection and |

| |overland transport contractors, negotiation with |

| |manufacturers, charterers and ship owners. |

|1995 |Project Engineering and supervision of Refinery Flare System |

| |extinguishing for Statoil, Norway using Nitrogen foam |

| |inerting. This project saved nine days on the refinery |

| |shutdown programme. Published article describing the process|

| |in "The Petroleum Engineer". |

|1993 |Local Project Management of the construction of a joint |

|-1995 |venture cryogenic gas plant in the UK for Messer/AGA. |
