After leaving School I was employed at a company called Colorama Photo Labs
w here I was employed for six months within the customer care department
carrying out administration duties and answering the phone to customer queries.
On leaving that position I was then employed at a company called National
P rovincial Glass as an Estimator, They where taken over by the Heyward
W illiams Group where I continued as an estimator then promoted to a job
controller. One again they were taken over by Pilkington Glass and I stayed on
being promoted to Glazing Manager.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
My name is Ian Clarke.
I am an avid physical fitness enthusiastic and as well as attending the gym some two or
more t imes a week.
As well as the above mentioned pursuits I also undertook studies to achieve a First Aid
Certificate through participation in a fully accredited First Aid course whilst at
P ilkington Glass. As well as involvement in this I took a course to become a Firas
Supervisor . As well as the activities I have already mentioned I also participated in
‘ Life Coaching’ and ‘Advice’ sessions held at Church, during which I offered advice,
guidance and support to younger and fellow church goers struggling with Sexual Health
or Life Style choices.
I found involvement in all of the above to be extremely rewarding and gratifying, and I
i ntend to continue to use my personal experience, life-skills and knowledge to fur ther
develop myself on both a personal level as well as academically. This I believe can be
achieved through the continuation of studies.
I relish the opportunity of being able to lead, organise and motivate others. I take great
p ride in my work and always strive towards excellence in all that I do.
My overall philosophy in life is to “stay focused upon my ambitions, to comprise for
myself a clear course of action/strategies in relation to how to achieve set goals &
objectives and to work ti relessly in order to achieve my overall ambitions”. I give 100%
focus and commitment to all that I endeavour, never giving-up when things get difficult
but to remain focused and to persevere.”
A dditional I nterests
As well as the above I also have a keen interest in Building Materials and television
p rograms such as Grand designs which I find int r iguing and fascinating.
I n my somewhat rare spare t ime I also enjoy watching light entertainment DVDs, going
to the Cinema and generally socialising with my friends and family.
Throughout my life I have been fortunate enough to have t ravelled internationally,
v isiting countries in Europe including Spain, Portugal and France, and others as far a
f ield as America, Mexico and The Caribbean islands to name but a few. My plan is to
eventually venture across the world, something which I may decide to do upon
completion of my working life.
