With over twenty years of safety experience, I have been afforded the opportunity to train, lead and build effective and
committed safety teams. I have instilled a cultural change in the health and safety arena wherever I have been
employed. I have excellent communication skills, coupled with knowledge and experience in HR functions, as well as
a strong operations background. Positions of HSE/HR/OPS Manager, Director of Safety, District Safety Manager, and
Safety Manager have allowed me the opportunity to identify and rectify safety deficiencies within an organization.
Above all, I am a self-motivated, team-oriented manager with the company’s needs and goals always at the forefront.
Areas of Experience in the Health and Safety Field
HSE/HR/Operations Manager – Cameron International
Responsibilities included training and implementing HSE programs throughout the facility, while instilling a safety
culture throughout the workforce. Conducting safety orientations with newly hired employees, meeting daily with key
service individuals and completing field audits were also duties I performed. An HSE ‘Cultural Change’ was
implemented and is currently maintained in a facility that was safety deficient.
Director of Safety – Marous Brothers Construction, Inc.
Responsibilities included overseeing the organization’s Health and Safety Program. Constant training with
management and hourly employees was at the highest priority to ensure a safe, hazard free environment. Other duties
included tracking injuries, analyzing patterns, documenting injuries/illnesses, and enforcing State and Federal Safety
Regulations.
District Safety Manager – United Parcel Service, Inc.
This was a District position that included 26 facilities with 4,400 employees. Safety training across the district was on-
going. Additional responsibilities included tracking employee injuries and case managing worker’s comp. claims.
Vehicular accident investigation, training in Hazmat procedures, and first responder practices were also attached to this
position. I also had the opportunity of attending the OSHA institute, (Chicago, IL), for several weeks. Five direct
reports aided me in these tasks.
Human Resources/Safety Manager – McKenzie Sports Products, Inc.
This position was responsible for all HR and Safety activities in a manufacturing environment. The workforce
comprised of 220 individuals located in 3 different states. Working directly with OSHA, the company earned several
awards by enrolling, and successfully completing, a four year voluntary compliance program. I was a key figure in
introducing automation into the operation, which eliminated previous laborious tasks and significantly reduced
injuries.
