Description: eMedNY System allows Medicaid providers to Submit HIPAA-

compliant Claims (Professional, Institutional, and Dental) 837,

Eligibility (270/271), Claim Inquiry(276/277), Prior

Authorization(278) transactions. The eMedNY is an incentive for paper

submitters to switch to an electric format. Providers can utilize

ePACES to view the status of claims submitted regardless of the

submission method. This means that providers can check on the status

of claims (and the associated payment amount) for claims submitted via

ePACES or any other method (electronic or paper). A great advantage of

ePACES is the speedy availability of claim status. For claims

submitted via ePACES (batch method). ePACES Provide Immediately Claim

Status for Professional providers (Physicians, Nurses, Nurse

practitioners and DME, etc.) claims can be submitted in "real-time".

Real time means that the status of the claim and any associated

payment amount will be available to the provider within seconds.

Description: NCTracks is a multi-payer system that will facilitate

provider enrollment and consolidate claims processing activities

for multiple DHHS health plans. Providers enrolled in DMA, DPH, and

ORHCC health plans will submit claims for covered health care services

to NCTracks. Providers who are contracted by Local Management Entities

(LME's) to perform state funded MH/DD/SAS services will continue to

submit their claims to the LME. NCTracks will coordinate processing

among the payers to ensure the proper assignment of the payer, benefit

plan, and pricing methodology for each service on a claim.

III: MEIPASS (Dept of Health, NY)

Description: The Medicaid EHR Incentive Program (MEIPASS), eligible

hospitals and health care practitioners in New York who adopt,

implement, or upgrade certified EHR technology, and subsequently

become meaningful users of the EHR technology, can qualify for

financial incentives. CMS provides details on both the Medicare and

Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs so providers can determine whether

they are eligible for the programs and choose between the two

incentive programs. Once eligibility is determined and the desired

program is selected, eligible providers apply(pronounced "My Pass"),

is the system that will accept providers' registration and

attestation. Once eligibility is determined and the desired program is

selected, eligible providers applying to the New York Medicaid EHR

Incentive Program will need to register and attest with the State. The

Medicaid EHR Incentive Payment Administrative Support Service, also

known as "MEIPASS" (pronounced "My Pass"), is the system that will

accept providers' registration and attestation.
