Home Health Nurse
Being a home health nurse has provided a plethora of knowledge. My patients
range from the end of life patients that requires acute 24 hour a day care
to the person who has just a knee surgery and requires bandage replacement.
Home health requires the nurse to know every aspect of patient care. Here
are just a few of the things I have done in the last month alone; change a
Colostomy bag, Gastrostomy tube flushing Gatrostomy tube feeding, dressing
changes, inter-muscular injections, stitches removal, staple removal,
straight catheterization, Foley catheterizations, flu vaccine, insulin
injections, glucose monitoring, blood glucose accu-check, anticoagulant
checks, blood withdraw.

Medical Therapist
The Healing Center works with a wide variety of patient's ; young and old,
ambulatory to non ambulatory. In 2003 I obtained a license as a Massage
Therapist. While working at the Healing Center, I was able to utilize both
my LVN and LMT expertise. My duties ranged from chart preparation, to
hands on therapy specialized in both hand and musculoskeletal therapy. I
enjoyed my experience at the Healing Center especially the relationship I
established with the weekly patients. There is nothing quite like seeing
the difference you ate making in a patient's life as you watch them improve
week after week

Utilization and Review Nurse
For eight years I worked for four different companies as Utilization and
Review Nurse. My duties included; reviewing and processing both PPO and
HMO referrals for both simple doctors' visits to the complicated surgical
procedures. I worked with several different IPA's, which entailed,
reviewing referrals, evaluating; doctors notes, lab reports, x-rays, MRI's.
I also did telephonic review, data inputting, using ICD9-CM codes, CPT
codes, and CPC codes. My job also required a vast knowledge of medical
terminology due to the extensive research that was involved. During these
eight years I became an expert at communicating with various professionals
in the field starting with patient moving to the front office staff and
finally the highly respected specialist. Needless to say, this position
required an ability to find the answers quickly, accurately and effeciently
