RELEVANT PROJECTS
REMOTE MONITORING SYSTEM
• Performed extensive market research and conceptualized a prize winning viable r emote monitoring
s ystem ‘Ecolink’ for the Industry sponsor at a multi-disciplinary design competition.
• Surpassed expectations of the sponsor by proposing expansion in the utility metering market and outlining
potential contribution towards LEED certification.
• Utilized Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to aid visualization.
POWERPACK FOR PEDICAB
• Designed and fabricated a mechanism to provide a boost to the Pedi cab puller while climbing a gradient by
harnessing the energy wasted during braking.
• Established design specifications by applying fundamentals of machine design, machine dynamics and hydraulics.
• Utilized drawings created in ProE extensively through out the preliminary design stages.
PLATE SUPPORT OPTIMIZATION
• Found optimum locations for pin supports to minimize the deflection in a plate acted upon by its own weight.
• Used FEA to obtain the objective function and Matlab to create the optimization program.
• Utilized the Simulated Annealing and Differential Evolution techniques for optimization of results for a 3:1 and
a 1:1 plate.
STRAIGHT-LINE GENERATOR
• Analyzed a straight-line generator mechanism in detail. Manually carried out the mobility, kinematic, force, and
dynamic analyses of the straight-line generator to solidify the concepts of Machine Dynamics.
• Validated these calculations using Working Model.
BOAT RETRIVAL SYSTEM
• Designed a mechanism to launch and retrieve a boat without submerging the trailer.
• Performed the kinematic and dynamic analyses of the links and pin joints using Working Model, ProE.
• Derived the technical specifications by hand calculations and validated using ProE and Working model.
PRODUCT PLATFORM FOR KITCHEN CABINETS
• Proposed beneficial manufacturing options for kitchen cabinets by using product platforms in order to cater to
a larger number of customers and increase the usability.
• Designed an experiment to obtain data from real subjects using an adjustable countertop prototype.
• Applied tools such as preference and principal components analysis to extrapolate the data obtained to a
larger set of users.
