Clinical Informatics Specialist

February 2012 to Present

Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC. - a liaison between the

hospital's clinical areas and the IT department to include determining the

needs and requirements for clinical applications in acute and ambulatory

healthcare settings. Lead in evaluation, selection, and implementation of

clinical systems (Siemens Soarian Clinicals, GE CPN, Kronos, Teletracking

Systems, Phillips ICIP, Invision, EMtrack, etc). Work with staff and

physicians to optimize the usage of clinical systems through training,

quality outcomes, and providing support in accordance with organizational

goals. Adheres and promote the requirements of the HIPAA privacy policies

and procedures.

Assistant Nurse Manager/ IT Super User May 2010

to February 2012

Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC. - Assistant Clinical Manager of

a staff of 214 employees, including nurses, emergency medical technicians,

and secretaries in a level 1 trauma center. Maintain 24 hour scheduling,

performing staff performance evaluation, monthly staff meetings, staff

development and reprimands, interviewing for hire, hospital committees,

district committees, development of departmental forms, ensuring proper

supplies and equipment ordering while maintaining department budget. Serve

as a liaison between clinical and information system staff to align

clinical needs to system functionality delivery. Provide consultative

expertise to assist with content design, build, testing, training, and go-

live activities in collaboration with our client's clinical team.

Registered Nurse November 2005 to June 2010

DeKalb Medical Center, Lithonia, Ga. - On call staff nurse and charge nurse

providing care for adult and pediatric patients acutely ill, utilized EMR

documentation in an emergency room setting. Supper user training and

delivered one-on-one training as required.

On Assignment, Calabasas, Ca - Temporary long term assignments on pediatric

units and emergency trauma centers throughout the United States.
