Currently ongoing work

With the help of ADORE-DORIS package, developed by TUDelft DEOS group, I am trying to study post seismic

activity going on in Kutch and Saurashtra region (Gujarat, India) after Bhuj (Kutch, Gujarat, India) earthquake, Mw 7.7,

2001, 26th January. I am using ENVISAT ASAR data along with SRTM and ASTER DEMs to see the effect of DEM

resolution on topographic effect removal during complex interferogram and other end products generation.

My master’s dissertation is also solely focused on radar interferometry. I will try to analyze post seismic activity

accumulated in Gujarat, India and North-East India using interferometry, GPS data and fault’s focal mechanism, by

the end of my dissertation. Since DORIS is under developing stage, my future work may include limiting errors

propagation and bugs removal since I am conversant in programming too.

Internship

Worked on HEAD (Health, Ecosystem And Disturbances) project under supervision of Dr. Irena Creed in the

University of Western Ontario, Canada as a Remote Sensing Assistant from 26 th May to 06th August, 2011. Project

included mapping of soil moisture probability in the region of Beaverhills watershed (near Edmonton city, Alberta,

Canada) using ERS-1,2 SAR dataset collected from the past two decades (1990-2011). I used fuzzy classification

approach to create shapefiles locating those places which will remain moist throughout the year, with 90% confidence

level, on GIS platform.

Field Experience

Two weeks (from 18th July to 31st July, 2011) field experience of soil moisture, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide gases

collection at crest slope, shoulder slope, toe slope, outer and inner wetlands at Turkey Lakes watershed, located in

the north of Sault St. Marie (Ontario, Canada). Also collected, filtered and processed water samples of 35 different

lakes in this watershed to know different ecology and health status and to find possible reasons for ferric ions binding,

deteriorating aquatic life and water quality.
