Resume:

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing in reference to your recent email about a job posting. I am a 2010 college graduate, with a specialization in C# programming. I do not have a lot of full-time programming experience, but I have done some coding at home for fun and have recently been working on 2 projects at my current job that are Estimating and Pricing software applications (C#, SQL Server). Over the past 10 years I have done quite a bit of database work in Microsoft Access (non-professionally). Before my degree, I received a certification in Relational Database Management.

At my current job, I worked with the third party consultant group that custom-coded our custom database that rolled out in June 2011. For the 2-3 years before that I worked with our IT manager and we met with this group to discuss what should be included in the custom database and how it should work. As the program was built, I was included in testing every part of the application and reporting all of the bugs that were found. Once it was rolled out, I was responsible for maintaining the database (and reporting any bugs that were still found). I also helped train other employees on all parts of the database. So, in addition to my classes at school, I do have some knowledge of the SDLC process.

This is a very interesting opportunity for me and I feel that my educational background and experience, along with a willingness to learn makes me a suitable candidate for this position.

Please contact me if you would like to set up an interview. I can be reached via my cell phone at 803-***-**** or by email at ***********@*******.***. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thank you,

Ashley Sullins

Recent college graduate (but long-time employee) eager to start my desired career in software development and gain experience in the programming/IT field.
