OBJECTIVE

My objective is to obtain a position utilizing my expertise as a licensed

Curriculum Instructional Specialist to provide curriculum instructional

services for education purposes, leadership, and support to teachers,

students, employees, managers, and administrators in areas of

SUMMARY

Professional with Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Broad experience

promoting strategic education partnerships with educational institutions

Creation of evaluation/assessment forms for the following programs (all of

the forms were based partially on the criteria upon which applicants are

told they will be evaluated and the information they are asked to provide).

Development of evaluation forms:

1. Touring Artist Directory: Developed Teaching Artist Rubric and forms

for AIE Panel to use (around 5-7 people) who make recommendations on

teaching artist selection for NCAC on line directory. AIE applicants

for the 2005-2007 on line directory (applications due April 16, 2004-

artists notified of selection in August 2004).

2. Junior Appalachian Musicians Program: Developed evaluation forms,

video criteria and complete Evaluation Package for:

a. Instructors to Evaluate: Overall program, students, and self-

evaluate.

b. Students to evaluate: Overall program, instructors, self-

evaluate.

c. Families to evaluate: Attending student, overall program.

d. Sponsor to evaluate: Instructors, program.

e. NCAC to evaluate instruction quality from video and evaluation

forms for grant monies.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Developed and implemented program using Mother Goose to

teach preschoolers and integrate children with varied

development disabilities in Early Childhood Center in

Chatham County, NC, (for SmartStart assimilation); taught

staff how to perform arts integration for educational

content with focus on Individual Education Plans (IEPS).

2. Accompany Linda Bamford, NCAC, AIE Director on site visit

to Beaufort, NC and More at Four Program to evaluate

teaching artists from the Wolf Trap Institute for Early

Learning through the Arts in VA.

3. Assist with AIE Grants panel preparations and attend

panel meetings in Raleigh at the NCAC.

4. Attend, volunteer, and assist NCAC presentation for NC

Center for After School programs Conference in

Greensboro, NC.

2. Orange County School System: Education Programming

Internship with Linda Ellis, Arts in Education and Educational Programming

Director for Orange County Schools included the following:

1. Assist the varied duties of the director.

2. Teaching Artist: Create, implement, and evaluate kindergarten

educational theatre program to reinforce learning in an advanced Science

Project involving chicken egg (embryo) incubation and hatching of chicks.

Doctoral Dissertation: Research, Curriculum and Instruction: Completed

pilot study in January 2007. I Feel Better with Music: An Arts-based

Educational Research Investigation of Curriculum for Preschoolers Diagnosed
