Start up organization providing seminars and trade show events for public sector technology

professionals throughout Southern California. Collaborative partners included City of Los Angeles, L.A.

County, State of California, CSU system, California Community Colleges, and many others. Corporate

sponsors (funding partners) included Apple, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Dell, Microsoft, Cisco and many more.

Founded company as a garage start up and within three years grew organization to 17 employees,

annual revenue of nearly $2M and a database of over 40,000 prospective clients, partners and funders.

Largest single event was 10,000 attendees over a 3 day period. Event location: Los Angeles Convention

Position Highlights

Directed operations with offices in Los Angeles and Cameron Park, managing GBET annual events that

involved 17 full time employees, 40 seasonal subcontractors, 50 to 75 advisory board members, 75 to 100

seminar presenters, up to 400 exhibitors, dozens of volunteers, and 8,000 to 10,000 attendees. Broad

scope of responsibilities included:

• General liaison between company, advisors, clients and partners

• Staff and volunteer management

• P&L management and ultimate budget control

• Strategic business positioning and marketing plan implementation

• Creating and recruiting partners, collaborators and benefactors

• Public and media relations

• Conducting bi monthly Director’s meetings

• Directed all print materials and marketing strategy
