BERMUDA HOSPITALS CHARITABLE TRUST 2003 - 2014

Executive Director/CEO

Recruited to execute leadership and outreach strategies for a newly created not-for-profit organization

charged with integrating existing hospital fundraising initiatives into a singular fund raising arm. Expand

individual and corporate giving for the hospital which suffered from negative public perception and

declining funding. Lead team of over 20 volunteers and 6 staff with the accountability of raising $40m in

3 years during the most difficult economic period in Bermuda. Report to the Board of Trustees. Serve on

the Hospital Board and multiple other boards and committees.

Amalgamated majority of hospital giving through the Trust and created an internal fundraising

strategy for the hospital

Worked closely with board, campaign and advisory committees and major contributors to develop

case for support and marketing materials (including mission, vision and proposals) to increase

funding resources

Implemented a marketing strategy to provide education and awareness with a positive media

component, increasing individual giving by 55%

Developed mutually beneficial relationships with sponsors and leading radio and television

outlets. Saved $80,000+ in marketing expenses as a result of cultivated relationships and

strategic partnerships

Led the most successful capital campaign on island, raising $30+m of the necessary funds for the

new hospital acute wing

Created innovative strategies for donor recognition and naming opportunities that were in line

with current and sustainable donor engagement

Worked successfully with US lawyers and tax authorities to develop and manage a newly created

US Foundation (501(c)3 charity) for the solicitation to US citizens. Recruited several local and

US directors. Served as Director/Secretary/Complkance Officer of company

Prior to leaving worked with UK lawyer in the development of a UK charity
