phases of MEP ( Mechanical/HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing) systems
engineering. Ensures that the Project’s requirements, as detailed in the
Technical Specifications, for all MEP & electrical engineering are carried out
faithfully, and in a timely fashion. Stewards electrical engineering aspects of
the project with other discipline leads on the Project Management Team (PMT),
as necessary. Stewards the interfaces among the PMT and the EPC
contractor’s organization with respect to electrical engineering & design to
ensure quality & minimize change orders. Involved for the following Typical
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide overall MEP & electrical engineering technical leadership & expertise.
Review, evaluate and advise of Electrical specifications and drawings
Compliance with design methods & safety factors to be used in design.
Reviews completed design for correctness, compliance, and operability.
Development & design of the electrical system, one-line diagram, schematics,
schedule, recommended deliverables and estimation. Selection, specification,
inspection of electrical equipment & components. Procurement of electrical
items including preparation of specifications, bid evaluations, bid tabulations,
bid recommendations, etc.
Experiences in electrical systems engineering, design, project engineering,
and construction management, and supervision. Responsible for power
generation, distribution, lighting, and grounding systems, including all types
of equipment (switchgears, transformers, motors, motor control centers,
generators, relaying, & metering). Preparing specifications, calculations by
software and manual, voltage drop, protective devices studies, proposal, bid
analysis, area classification, one line diagrams, detail design engineering from
conceptual stages to final drawings of construction for electrical & controls
systems.
