EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Seasoned Professional Engineer, with over 20 years of experience in fluid
mechanics, oil well cementing and work over, positive displacement and
centrifugal process pumps, pipeline pigging, reciprocating, centrifugal and
screw type air compressors, mechanical seals, top, side and bottom entry
mechanical mixers, diesel & natural gas power generators and electrical
switchgear, protection and control systems. Registered P.Eng in the
Province of Alberta with PMP certified through PMI. Highly interested in
continue my PM career in Canada.
As PM, my objectives for this role will be to plan, organize and direct
daily operations, establish and implement policies and procedures for
engineering work, assign, co-ordinate and review technical work, consult
and advise clients, advise senior management and manage contracts by
becoming the orchestrator that leads the team towards the project's goal:
Delivering projects on budget and time, with deliverables as per specs and
signed off by technical stakeholders.
Ultimately, the Project Manager role is to add value by controlling costs
and schedule overruns, controlling scope creep and finally bring the
project to an orderly and documented conclusion.
In the practice of project management, the most important things I have
learned are:
To keep track of project's deliverables by orchestrating different staff
engineering disciplines, consultants, engineering firms.
To monitor the status of the work plan, focusing particularly on the
critical path tasks for the design, procurement and construction of
packaged infrastructure.
To lead oral and written communications with clients and all project's
stakeholders.
To track costs and be the ultimate gate keeper for the projects'
expenditures. Follow change management process and do not gold plate.
To complete risk reviews planning and mitigation strategies that could
impact the project's schedule and costs.
To develop schedules trying to reduce the size of the work packages to no
more than 80 hours in duration when possible.
To never compromise quality during the project life cycle, including
technical, operational, commercial and maintenance requirements as per
specifications.
To manage customer/stakeholders communications and to meet their needs for
the project, making decisions focused on their requirements.
To develop budgets, schedules and detailed execution plans for the
project, keeping them up to date.
To closeout project and generate lessons learned when project ends and
hand-over to operations.
