PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Graduate Research Assistant Spring 2009 - Present

National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Florida State University,

Tallahassee, FL

Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry Program

Advisor: Dr. Alan G. Marshall, Director of ICR Program

Research Area: Hydrogen/deuterium Exchange Monitored by HPLC ESI FT-ICR

Mass Spectrometry and Top-Down MS: Method development, optimization and

applications.

. Designed chromatographic method to reduce back-exchange of D for H in

H/D exchange MS by suitable choice of HPLC separation modifiers.

. Developed new method for improved chromatographic separation, charge

enhancement and sensitive detection for intact proteins.

. Performed baseline resolution (new benchmark) and structural analysis

of therapeutic monoclonal antibody on FT-ICR MS by optimizing numerous

instrument conditions.

. Evaluated the effects of heavy gases (nitrogen, argon, xenon) for

fragmentation of intact proteins with beam-type collision activated

dissociation.

. Conducted top-down mass spectrometry for different "supercharged"

intact proteins with collision activation and electron capture

dissociation.

. Worked on HeLa cells to probe dynamic changes in PTM's between

asynchronous and M-phase arrested HeLa cells.

. Researched top-down mass spectrometry of intact proteins greater than

50 kDa.

Graduate Teaching Assistant Fall 2007 - Fall 2008

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Florida State University,

Tallahassee, FL

. Conducted general chemistry lab (CHM1046L) and introduction to

analytical lab (CHM3120L) for 30 students each during summer and fall

2008.

. Worked as an NMR Technician on Bruker 300 MHz analyzing organic

chemistry lab samples for undergraduates during Fall 2007 and Spring

2008.

Undergraduate Research Assistant Fall 2006 - Spring 2007

University Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India

. Worked on "Synthesis of 2-(4'-Aminophenyl)-5-AminoBenzimidazole",

under the guidance of Prof. V. R. Kanetkar and Dr. N. Sekar.

This work included reviewing of all the possible methods of synthesis,

selecting of the most appropriate method and subsequently synthesizing

the intermediate in the laboratory with the best possible yield and

purity.

Industrial Work Experience May 2006 - June 2006

Sohan Dye chem Pvt. Ltd

. Completed In-Plant Training from May 15 - June 30, 2006. During this

period, I worked in the research and development laboratory to

synthesize different kinds of azo pigments. I also studied large-

scale manufacture.
