Objective

To lead, develop and motivate teams in manufacturing, quality, service or overhaul operations utilizing my Senior Operations Management experience and abilities in strategic planning and solving problems to achieve world class performance and maximizing ROI.

Key Competencies

- International Relations - Negotiations

- Product Development - Market Assessment

- Change Management - Continuous Improvement

- Organizational Development - Quality Management

Qualifications and Accomplishments

A successful Senior Operations Manager with over 25 years of experience in high quality manufacturing companies, a B.Sc. in Mechanical and Production Engineering and an MBA, strong knowledge of MIS and ERP systems and an excellent record of meeting or exceeding corporate objectives, leading to the following selected accomplishments:

• Developed teams as part of a new start-up (inclusive of facility) by keeping the teams objective and encouraging open communication across the teams and keeping the teams focused. This provided earlier start up of the operation, minimized the delays and provided a set of budget controls for supervisors and managers as the organization grew.

• With rapid growth the challenge of higher quality was required and by applying Lean methodologies we provided a plan that provided project managers with shorter project closing rate on the lower value projects below $50k by 40% and the number of projects in the system was reduced by 35%. This resulted in the increased customer focus and the revenue increase of 15%, plus put an increase on the bottom line of 5% and represented $315k.

• There were issues with manufacturing being on 3 sites. We linked all locations together and provided a reporting system for the locations. This gave the business unit management control of inventory and operating costs whilst providing the ability to review the overall from the corporate office. This also resulted in better utilization of equipment, lowered the cost of inventory by 5% and reduced inventory by 11% over 2 years.

• One challenge at the company was that they required a new system that would replace a legacy system and provide for new links to new products. We implemented a plan that saw removal of demarcation lines, use of Lean manufacturing methods, and included the use of concurrent manufacturing techniques. This resulted in improved reporting of the operations parameters, increase in production of 30% and the introduction of new products within shorter launch times( by 15%).

• Due to increased competition, one development was to develop a manufacturing and special part supply department that consisted of engineering and manufacturing operations for field and service sales. This allowed the penetration of the modernization market and provided increased branch profits and operational contribution to the full manufacturing facility. This resulted in the increase of sales by 12% and contribution to costs of 18%.

• Due to increased costs we started to review international suppliers. After extensive research, and by utilizing the consular services, a line of communication was established that provided for a set of contract specifications to be identified and drawn up. This provided a set of supply/performance criteria that protected the company from increased warranty costs and lead-time / delivery delays, plus allowed for quality guarantees . This generated a reduction of product and warranty costs by 16%.
