Project Involved like counterpart:
Ongoing:
• Strengthening Radiotherapy Physics Units to Meet the Requirements of International
Standards
Many regional and national TC projects were related to this project (ER/6/009, RER/6/012, RER/6/018, BOH/6/008 ) which were
indispensable in establishing the infrastructure in the field of radiotherapy physics. The project BOH/6012 : Establishing the
Medical Radiation Physics Centre; Department of Medical Physics and Radiation Safety, Clinical Centre Sarajevo was one of the
counterparts together with Clinical Centre Banja Luka established the needed infrastructure in the field of medical physics,
especially in radiotherapy physics, needed for the coordination of the proposed project .
Completed:
• Indoor and Outdoor Monitoring of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (closed 2007)
• Marine Environmental Assessment of the Mediterranean Sea(closed 2005)
Dear Sir
Currently, I am part of medical team of a brand new radiotherapy center which is operating for
more than two year in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Center has two Varian linacs for treatment of patient.
All the acceptance tests and commissioning of equipment was done last year and I was actively involved
in all those activities, from relative and absolute dosimetry measurements to mechanical checks. My
current duties consist of absolute and relative dosimetry of photon and electron beams as part of QA of
linear accelerators dosimetry, test calibration of brachytherapy source (Ir-192), brachytherapy and
external beam 3D conformal treatment planning and other aspects of quality control program and
radiation protection. Concerning Monte Carlo code I have some experience with EGSnrc code.
Before this job, I had been working for Public health Institute in radiation protection centre for fully four
years as a researcher, and one year as a head of department. My job in Radiation protection centre was
assessment of patient doses received during radiology examination, quality control of X-ray machines and
gamma spectrometry with HPGe detectors. I have preformed a lot of various measurements for radiation
protection purpose. I was member of team for ISO17025 accreditation of laboratory and my job was
mainly assessment of measurement uncertainties for several of laboratory methods.
