The formalising and preparation of documentation leading to A.M.A. becoming
the first national asphalt contractor to achieve BS 5750 for laying and

Research and development into new bituminous products, modified bitumen's,
emulsions for use within the construction industry. Achievements include
development of Thin Surfacing and asphaltic hydraulic liners for
environmental usage .

Glasgow,Heathrow,Birmingham,Manchester,Humberside,RAE Llanbedr,RAF
Alconbury.All airfields were constructed in marshall asphalt and pq
concrete mainly in apron areas.All BAA authority airfields were constructed
under night possession,eg,,restricted working times, military during
daytime with restrictions.Selection of materials,Design of
product,Estimating,On site Control of Lab/Plant function and control of
laying gangs operations.
Cheshire County Council - Technician 1973 -1976 Technician Engineer 1976 -
1985
Geotechnical design and testing of construction materials for the counties
motorway network. Working also within the North West road construction unit
(NWRCU). (A sub unit of CCC) NWRCU disbanded in 1980 when I was transferred
to CCC as Laboratory Manager for bituminous materials. Responsibilities
included design, construct and supervision of plant and major
reconstruction works within the county.
