Safety Officer II
I was responsible for reviewing Safety Management, Fire/ Life Safety
Manuals, Emergency Management Manuals, and making Environment of Care (EOC)
rounds. I was accountable for preparing the hospital for TJC, CMS, and
other inspections. I reviewed incident reports to find out trends. I
conducted OSHA type inspection / rounds of the facility to see that we
comply with OSHA/ EPA/ TJC requirements. I have worked with security to
improve our emergency preparedness. I reported progress on fire/ life
safety, emergency preparedness, and hazardous waste to EOC Committee
(Safety Committee). I represented hospital in Department of Public Health,
EMA, and other local emergency preparedness agency meetings. I was
responsible for new employee safety and emergency preparedness orientation;
trained staff on fire safety, general safety, and emergency preparedness
annually. I conducted quarterly fire drills in patient areas, and annual
fire drills in other areas of the hospital. I completed Red Cross CPR
Certification in April, 2012. I inspected air handling units, boiler

Author
I wrote a book on teenagers and commuter's Driving Safety. The title is
"Drivers License to Kill" It is a combination of short stories and case
studies put together to change the drivers' behavior about unsafe driving.
The book is in its final stages and will be sent for editing soon. At

Occupational Safety and health Specialist

largest Veterans Hospitals; conducted safety training for supervisory
