I began bringing home overflow persons from shelters at which I was volunteering. In response to my
wife discomfort she and I established a 25-bed shelter. We leased a 100-year old building in the
historic canter of Old town Manassas which we personally renovated. We obtained state and city
Licenses, established a board of director, and obtained grants from
State and federal sources. I arranged for or personally provided food, drug and alcohol counselling,
financial counselling; we served and housed over 2,569 people including Transitional housing.
