Since I began my career with the Socorro
Interests Police department, I have involved myself in
various opportunities in working with the
public. As a probationary officer in 2009, I
was delegated by the chief of police for
projects such as the Coordinator for the
"Graffiti Wipeout" program where my objective
was to maintain the image of the City of
Socorro. By forming a partnership with the
citizens in the community, ideas were arranged
and executed to deter the vandalism and upkeep
the image of the city.
In 2009, I was elected by my peers to be the
treasurer of the Socorro Police Officers
Association where I was entrusted to maintain
membership dues, the expenditures of monies
and donations. As a board member, I have
volunteered my time at several charity events
and fundraisers for the community, including
elementary schools where awards and
commendations were received from the public
and city officials.
In April 2010, I participated in the "Socorro
on Wheels" bike run where citizens of the city
participated in a 3 mile bike tour on major
thoroughfares and provided escorts for the
safety of the public.
In March 2010, I participated in working
undercover for several weeks regarding illegal
gambling in a casino establishment. I, along
with my team were able to apprehend and
confiscate property along with illegally
obtained funds.
