Testing (CMT) Manager - (2004-Present)
As a Project Engineer, responsibilities include project management of
geotechnical investigations, percolation
investigations, and compaction testing for
commercial, municipal and residential projects. This
would typically include preparation of proposals,
negotiating project scope with clients, scheduling,
performing/overseeing field investigations and
testing, selecting laboratory testing, analyzing
laboratory testing to develop recommendations,
preparation and review of compaction and preliminary
geotechnical reports, and onsite wastewater treatment
designs. As CMT Manager for an accredited laboratory
with soil, concrete, aggregate, asphalt and masonry
testing capabilities, duties consist of oversight of
all construction materials testing projects including
school, municipal, commercial and residential
developments. This includes meeting with clients to
establish project goals and budgets, supervision and
review of all laboratory and field testing, and
oversight/training of inspectors and technicians in
the lab and field in order to assure compliance with
project specifications and ASTM, ACI, and Caltrans
test methods. Responsibilities consist of maintaining
laboratory QA/QC programs in order to maintain
accreditation with NVLAP, Caltrans, and DSA.
PPI Engineering - Staff Engineer/Engineering Technician
(1996 -2004)
As a Staff Engineer/Engineering Technician, duties included designing
stormwater systems and erosion control plans for vineyards, conducting
feasibility studies of potential project sites, preparing grading plans
for agricultural roads and stormwater systems, working with clients and the
state water resources control board to establish and maintain water rights,
monitoring construction projects to ensure compliance with plans,
construction staking and elevation surveying for drainage and grading
projects. Using AutoCAD to prepare topographic maps and to perform slope
analyses of project areas. Assist senior staff in the preparation of plans
and specifications.
Inland Foundation Engineering-Engineering Technician
(1991 -1995)
As an Engineering Technician, duties consisted of performing field and
laboratory testing including compaction testing, grain size analysis, Sand
Equivalent, direct shear testing, Expansion Index determinations,
compressive strength testing and percolation testing.
