Selected Highlights
. Reduced past due 75% from $6M (15 days) to $1.5M (3 days) while
increasing sales from $400k/day to nearly $600k/day, improving OTD 35
points within 5 months by incorporating production leveling, supplier
forecasting tools, constraint management visuals, and cross-functional
communication techniques.
. Improved customer communications implementing the "Shawnee Critical"
process reducing email and phone communications while increasing customer
satisfaction. Tool also deployed to other Eaton plants as a best
practice.
. Produced $2M+ in savings utilizing Six Sigma, Lean, and other improvement
methodologies. Enhanced finished goods forecast and inventory planning
processes while improving product availability by 12 percentage points.
. Removed $330k from the inventory pipeline between two filtration plants
and a key supplier through a value stream mapping effort and subsequent
kaizen improvement tasks.
. Reduced finished goods inventory at Eastern and Western distribution
centers by $7M, from $42M to $35M, by implementing an innovative
inventory model using ABC and statistically calculated safety stock, lot
size, and replenishment cycles.
. Saved $200K by reducing WIP in a Cookeville plant from a 2-week supply
down to 2 days through implementing production Kanban.
. Removed $350K of slow moving product from Eastern and Western
distribution centers through a Low Frequency "E-code" project.
. Reduced 737 Nacelle WIP by 30% with a workplace organization kaizen and
constant work-in-process (ConWIP) throughput implementation.
. Doubled attendance by restructuring and re-energizing APICS curriculum
from six individual courses containing 96 hours of instruction to a new,
interactive 40-hour rotating curriculum titled "Supplying the Value
Chain."
. Significantly increased productivity by developing Boeing Wichita's first
on-line class titled "The Game of Work" centered on Charles Coonradt's
theory of "management by scorekeeping," which links daily and weekly
outcomes to overall team performance and enterprise strategy.
. Allowed employees to work more efficiently and with greater accuracy by
converting to an improved Bill of Material system and implementing CAS
Dock-to-Stock processing and a new Cycle Counting procedure.
