I am an LMSW who has designed and managed programs, trained and supervised staff, and
ensured quality assurance and rights protection. I am seeking employment that will combine my
therapeutic skills with my managerial ability.
EDUCATION: I have an LMSW. I graduated from the University of Houston in May 2000
with a Masters of Social Work. I earned my undergraduate degree in Business Administration
from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in December 1977.
EXPERIENCE: From April 2010, I have been employed with Springbranch Transitional Care
as a Social Worker. I am responsible for assessing residents' needs, linking them to appropriate
services, and monitoring those services for effectiveness.
From February 2004 to March 2010, I was employed with DAPA (Drug and Alcohol Programs
of America). I was a Geriatric Program Team Leader. I developed, managed, and monitored a
geriatric program to provide therapeutic treatment for seniors. I was responsible for hiring and
training therapists and scheduling and making admissions decisions. I also supervised nursing
and support staff. I was responsible for ensuring that all work met the appropriate standards.
From September 2003 to February 2004, I was employed with Harris County Hospital District as
a Social Worker. I was a project coordinator on a grant team funded by a CHEST Program and
Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company. My duties included assessing patients for financial need and
coordinating renovation of waiting room area.
From March 30, 2002, to August 31, 2003 (where I had been also been employed from 1992-
2000), I was employed with the Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority (MHMRA) of
Harris County as a Social Worker. My duties included providing case management services to
adults with schizophrenia and bi-polar disease.
From May 2000 to January 2001 and June 2001 to March 2002, I was employed with the Harris
County Guardianship Program as a Social Worker. My duties included assessing client problem
areas, mobilizing resources, and developing programs that would improve their quality of life.
From January 2001 to June 2001, I was employed at Stoneybrook Convalescent Center. My
duties included assessment of client needs, assistance with medical needs of clients, and linkage
to appropriate services.
From April 1992 to May 2000, I worked for the Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority
(MHMRA) of Harris County. My duties over that span of time included case management with
children, adolescents and children, case management supervision, and quality assurance reviews
of programs, which were to assure compliance with state and local standards.
