PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Santan Import Service Center 2010-2011
Lube and tire technician
I function as the mechanic responsible for all oil changes, tire rotations
and repairs, and battery replacements, for all makes and models but
specializing in Honda vehicles coming in for service where appointments are
scheduled for regular maintenance. I perform safety inspections and make
recommendations to the customer for other repair items found during my
inspections.
SPX Service Solutions, Tempe, Arizona 2009-2009
Automotive technician, Diagnostic Analysis
I analyzed and debugged the performance and functionality of five different
electronic automotive scanning tools. Each of these units are used to
diagnose problems and failures on American and foreign made automotive
computer systems. I worked independently to compare the manufacturer's
specific scanning tools against the Owatonna Tool Corporation (OTC)
developed tools. This involved establishing relationships with numerous
automotive dealerships and auction yards in the Phoenix metro area to
employ specific makes and models of vehicles for test and validation of the
scan tool's performance.
These tools include the OTC Pegisys Wireless Scan Tool, the OTC Genisys
Scan Tool, the Nissan Consult III Scan Tool, the General Motors (GM) Tech
II, and the GM Vehicle Data Recorder (VDR). Using the scan tool, I checked
specific codes and other data provided by the car, against the expected
result. In some cases, using my background knowledge in automotive
mechanics, it was essential to trigger certain vehicle failures for
evidence of compliant response. Where discrepancies were found, I
documented them in reports, using ClearQuest, for submission to the
software team for evaluation and resolution. I also provided complimentary
catalogs and software updates to those dealers who volunteered their
participation.
I regularly installed software updates into the scan tools as provided by
the software team. In performing this position, I gained a fundamental
knowledge of Linux and expanded my overall auto mechanic knowledge base.

diagnosis of electrical, engine, rattle, and selected brake service duties
to my craft. Following this I incorporated new vehicle inspections and used
vehicle reconditioning as a part of my daily duties. I have also completed
warranty documentation and inspections, and have assembled and disassembled
engines and transmissions. My technician experience has included assuming
work on many different makes and models of vehicles as necessity dictated.
