ULMA FORM WORKS - Jessup, MD - 9 October 2006 - 4 June 2010
I worked as a CADD draftsman in the Engineering department.
My duties included the following:
- Drawing two-dimensional blueprints in both PDF and Arch D (24"x36")
formats for construction companies showing plans for how to use our
company's formwork and the setup to pour concrete walls
- Using AutoCAD to draw the outlines for the concrete walls for a
construction site referencing both structural and architectural
drawings supplied by the contractor
- Using AutoCAD to place formwork panels from the AD Center on the
concrete outlines as well as placing appropriate hardware from the AD
Center as well on the panels in their proper positions
- Communicating with our salesmen to acquire information from
contractors about what is to be formed and how to go about the setup
for it
- Communication with our senior engineer to check my drawings and ensure
the form setup would be structurally sound and make revisions whenever
needed
- On rare occasions the senior engineer would have me check any of his
less complex drawings as well
- Plotting the drawings for use by the contractors
- Writing up orders for equipment and communicating with the shipping
manager to ship the material off to construction sites
- Approximately every six months would aid in taking the physical
inventory of our equipment in our warehouses
- On occasion (but rarely, though) visiting jobsites to see the setups
I was unfortunately laid off due to our department being
phased out.
