Objective To obtain an entry level position as a mechanical engineer
Education University of California, San Diego
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, June 2011 – GPA:3.5
Coursework – Mechanics (Fluid and Solid), Linear Control Systems, Space Mission Analysis
and Design, Heat Transfer, Finite Element Analysis, Computer Aided Design,
Linear Circuits, Environmental Flow, Thermodynamics, General Chemistry
Laboratory Senior Design II – MAE 156B
– Sponsored by SPAWAR, a Naval contractor, to design and construct a new mammal
deployment water exchange system
– Used FEMAP, Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Simulation Xpress to optimize a new mechanism
for the water exchange cart used when transporting ATC (Animal Transport Containers) on C-
130 cargo planes.
– Learned techniques from advanced machine shop including: boring, threading, CNC cutting,
and operating lathe and mill
Senior Design I – MAE 156A
– Designed and constructed a robot to perform a specific task with the control of a single button
on a microprocessor programmed through a computer.
– Used Solidworks, AutoCAD, LaserCAMM, and Pic Basic Pro to create the final product
Mechanical Engineering Laboratory I – MAE 171A
– Participated in materials testing, position control, and heat transfer labs
– Performed creep and stress relaxation tests on different plastics, tuned a PID controller for a
linear mass spring damper system and calculated heat transfer coefficients
Introduction to Engineering Graphics and Design – MAE 3
– Developed basic techniques and skills in design work flow and logistics such as: team
organization and planning
– Introduced to usage of elementary programming to design to build a clock, made out of
acrylic, and a robot to compete against other teams
Extracurricula Active Student For Kids (A Division of UCSD Volunteer Connection) 2007 - 2009
r
University of California, San Diego – Program Director
– Created volunteering opportunities for other college students to give back to their community
– Tutored students from K-6th grade in subjects such as math and English
– Enhanced teaching and communication skills by working with struggling students
Additional Computer Languages/ Programs
Skills – Pro-E CAD, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Secure Shell (SSH), Mac OSX, Microsoft Word,
Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Languages
– Fluent in English and Spanish
