Duties: Criminal prosecutor focusing primarily on health care fraud, white collar fraud,
and public corruption.
Notable Cases: U.S. v. Roger Williams Medical Center, Robert Urciuoli, et. al. – Complex
investigation and prosecution of Roger Williams Medical Center and executive
who bribed former State Senator John Celona by placing him on the hospital
payroll for the purpose of carrying out the hospital’s political agenda.
U.S. v. Curran – Doctor of naturopathy convicted of falsely holding himself out
as a doctor of medicine and deceiving his clients into believing that they had
life-threatening diseases that only he could cure. As a result, he fraudulently
induced his victims to purchase more than $1 million of purported nutritional
materials from him.
U.S. v. Gonsalves – Medical doctor convicted of diluting vaccines that he
administered to hundreds of immigrant patients, illegally selling drug samples
and committing hundreds of thousands of dollars of health care fraud.
