This project involved development, maintenance and support of a three-

tier enterprise application viz Time Warner Gateway that is used to

activate wireless devices.

This application accepts orders, automates the order processing

(Fulfillment, Customer Provisioning, Email notifications, order status

notifications).

The orders are received as XMLs, by an XML gateway module. Automation is

implemented using the State Machine design pattern. Multiple Category &

State numbers used to identify disposition of an order. Based on the

disposition of the order, a workflow is triggered/executed (a work step

is call as workflow). The workflow can be scheduled using the scheduler

component in framework. Application handles the orders which fall out the

automation process. Fall out orders are handled using Queue, Search,

View/Edit functionalities. The queues are called as DWQ (dynamic work

queues). The DWQs are defined based on the order disposition i.e. the

category & state of the order. In the persistence layer we use OJM

(Object to JDBC Mapping) implementation called CPO (class persistence

object). Maven is used as a build tool.

. Design of the entire automation workflow module based on the Algorithm

was the main task behind the success of this project

. Development of various workflow modules for the order cycle process

and maintenance of the modules is done as part of the project using RI

framework

. Enhancements (Major/Minor) and Bug fixing are carried out as part of

the maintainance and support activities of this project

. Different types of testing viz Unit, System, Integration testing etc..

is carried out during the testing phase

. Zero defect code is deployed during deployment window without any

delay in timelines resulting in Customer delight

I was involved in the development and maintenance of three-tier

enterprise application gateway, Time Warner Gateway.

This application has automated order management workflow. Application

gets an order through the Gateway component medium HTTP/webservices in

the form of XML.

XSDs & XML Beans are used for request & responses. The application

talks to third party system for the activation, coverage, address

validation, etc. The connectors are independent components designed to

process request/response from the third party Connectors communicate to

external system using XML over HTTP or webservice calls as required.

This also involved user management component that has features for

adding user, deleting user, creating groups, providing permissions,

adding roles to user and groups etc. The search, view, edits & update

functionality is provided in a component called WebClient. The GUI is

rendered using XSL transformation. The SAXON & XALAN transformers are

used in the framework to do the XML to HTML transformation. In the

persistence layer we use OJM (Object to JDBC Mapping) implementation

called CPO (class persistence object). Maven is used as a build tool.

. Requirement gathering, designed connectors and adapters functionality

and provided the effort of the entire development project

. Developed various connectors and adapters for data transformation and

data communication with the third parties in RI framework

. Exhaustive testing of the entire project and deployment with the zero

defect using Maven tool
