Office Manager/Administrative Assistant ToonUp Snippets, Inc. Wayne, PA
Managing a small office for ToonUp Snippets was a real exciting experience.
The job responsibilities included many varied responsibilities, which
included answering the phone, typing, faxing and opening mail. Being
manager involved faculty solving issues and ordering supplies. In addition
there was the creative aspect which involved working in Flash software with
animations, website proofing and web text content database construction,
and some voice recording.
7/2006 - 7/2007 Administrative Assistant Volt Services/VWR
International West Chester/PA
Working in the Regulatory Affairs Department as a direct support for David
Caria the director, was a wonderful opportunity to expand my skills. The
primary responsibility in this position was compiling the worldwide OSHA
Safety Reports. This involved email correspondence and occasional meetings
with associates from different locations. In addition the other duties were
ordering supplies, correspondence new employee set up and meeting
arrangements. In line with the contract agreement at VWR my part-time
position ended after 1 year.
11/1998 - 2006 Owner/Web Master Jeanetta Cavanaugh's Gift Service

In 1988 I started and a small gift business via the worldwide web. This
involved learning HTML, designing and publishing my own web site with
merchant capability. As web master I maintain and update the website and
feature several on-line auctions. Formerly I wrote and distributed a
monthly newsletter informing readers about antiques and collectibles.

I enjoyed working closely with Mindy who is a Legal Nurse Consultant. My
administrative duties included helping to organize the office system and
assist in the administrative duties. Working closely with medical and legal
offices, to gather information for legal medical review. A change in the
office structure which combined financial with administration phased this
pleasant position out.
3/2002 - 4/2003 Insurance Reviewer/Reception Haverford Chiropractic
Haverford/PA
I enjoyed working for this small company, submitted insurance forms in a
software programs. The next step would be following up with the insurance
companies for adjustments or corrections, and then contacting the patients
concerning coverage and benefits. There were regular times when I filled in
at the desk making appointments for the doctor. This was a very small
office with many repeat patients.

At MassageWorks as Events Coordinator, I was able to work with a variety
of people including doctors and lawyer's offices, insurance companies,
massage therapists, clients and corporate offices. My duties include
setting up and maintaining insurance and health files for individual
clients, insurance billing, employee liaison and coordinating on site
corporate chair massage for corporate offices.

I worked within in large law libraries such as University of North
Florida and Ernst & Young cataloging and maintaining law updates, mandates
and periodicals while assisting lawyers and legal assistants with locating
information in the legal library. This involved strict attention to a
numbering system to ensure accuracy while maintaining speed.

Services Jacksonville/Florida
Working for Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Florida (under Kelly Services) for
a year, I developed work ethics including working without close
supervision, maintaining confidentiality and team playing. I served as the
administrative secretary to two directors during a transitional stage for
the Membership and Billing Department. When regular secretaries were hired,
I then transferred to the Advertising Department, handling varied
responsibilities. I worked closely with the project coordinator and the
secretary. My duties included phones, typing, supplies, spreadsheets,
travel arrangements and correspondence. This position allowed me to use my
decision making and creative skills because of the ability to see what was
needed, and then follow through without constant direction. When I returned
to Membership & Billing, I worked with two Service Managers in researching
the status of Group Membership Summaries. This involved working with
Contract Administration, designing spreadsheets and researching contracts.
Including initiating meetings with team members and giving oral reports to
small groups. This was an excellent opportunity to use decision making
ability with minimal supervision.

I served as the regular replacement for several companies including
accounting firms, and companies such as American Express, T.V. Guide (Human
Resources) and American Day Treatment Center. At American Day Treatment
Center, while maintaining a busy phone system, I had the challenge of
interacting with psychiatric patients and volatile situations. This
position involved maintaining confidentiality and the ability to remain
calm during tense situations.
