WORK HISTORY: Formerly the Safety Director for Lewis Industrial Services.
Handle the machine shop and the on-site safety for our employees at GPC.
Also, heavily involved in the registration of ISO 14001. Since 1-2010, I have
introduced Job Hazard Analysis, revamped the housekeeping of the shop,
introduced recycling, and have organized the 14001 effort. I, also, served as
Safety Director for Ruyle Mechanical of Peoria, and ESCI of Springfield.
1999 to 1-2010 Was the Owner/Operator os Safety First Services. Offered a
full line of safety services such as on site safety, safety training, handling OSHA
problems, behavioral safety, site specific/job specific training, and auditing of 300
log. Served as site safety for Eagle One Safety at Eddyville Cargill, and was
Safety Compliance Manager for Whitters Industrial Services whose major client
was ADM Clinton, Cedar Rapids, and Peoria.
1997 to 1999 501 Safety Trainer for American Safety Training. Conducted
OSHA 10 and 30 hour classes around the country and did job site training and
managment at customer request. Consulted on OSHA and USDA problems and
assisted with safety program development by organizing safety committees and
supplying job specific training.
1994 to 1997 Operations Manager for the River Center/Adler Theater.
Responsible for day to day operation of the physical plant for a three building
convention and entertainment complex. Managed all CIP's and service crews,
assisted City Risk Manager with job site safety, accident investigation, and comp
claims. Was named to the city wide safety committee and was put in charge of
vendor program rating.
1985 to 1994 Construction/Safety Manager for Servpro of Cedar Rapids. Was
responsible for insurance claim construction of fire damaged properties and job
site safety for a general contractor. Conducted daily constuction and safety
meetings with all subs and employees and made sure the project stayed on
schedule. Designed an employee profile program which aided in job site security
and helped minimize job site accidents.
1975 to 1985 Wilson Foods of Cedar Rapids. Began as sanitation laborer and
became department supervisor. Was certified by Chemidyne as a Haz Com
specialist and later took the OSHA 30 hour class. Transferred to the Safety
Office as a claims investigator and later became Safety Project Manager in
charge of reconstruction and new construction. This lead to promotion to Safety
Mgr of the Cedar Rapids plant with additional responsibility of Regional OSHA
Affairs Officer for plant compliance, and all OSHA contact.
