Career Food Lion, LLC. - Salisbury, NC
Progression
Assistant Store Sales Manager, Store Sales Manager, 1998
2007-Present to 2007
Assistant Store Sales Manager, Grocery Sales Manager,
1996 to 1998 1995
Progressed through a series of promotions, culminating into a
challenging role to direct leadership in total store
operations in several different areas of the sales
organization. Supervised an average between 45-75 associates
in each location pending on store size and volume.
Stepped down to Assistant Manager in 2007 to pursue my
Bachelor's Degree where I majored in Business Administration
with a concentration in Management.
Achievement Earned repeated commendations for sales leadership throughout
Highlights +18-year tenure with Food Lion, LLC. Significant results
include:
As Store Manager Quadrupled revenues in total store profits in 1998 compared
(1998-2007): to profits from 5 years earlier at the first store location I
was assigned which at the time was one of the highest volume
stores in Virginia and still hold the highest week sales
total record in that location.
Received store management training at Food Lion Store Manager
College in 1998 where I received the Jefferson Cup where I
was chosen the most likely to succeed in my class.
After operating three different locations as store manager, I
was assigned in 2000 to open a new store in Roanoke, VA from
the ground up which was very challenging in the areas of
staffing, meeting crucial deadlines, and learning new aspects
of opening a new location very few managers ever experience.
Achievement Transferred to Martinsville, VA in 2004 to open a new Food
Highlights Lion store which was formerly a Winn-Dixie location. I hold
(continued) this achievement in high regard because when I transferred to
that store, it was on a Friday and Winn-Dixie was still open.
It closed that day and the following Wednesday, it opened as
a Food Lion. We transformed the store from a Winn-Dixie to a
Food Lion in just 4 days. This is still regarded throughout
the company as a business miracle which I received an
outstanding performance award for my leadership on that
project.
While attending American InterContinental University, my
marketing project which was an article I wrote called,
"America is Back!", was chosen from my marketing class and
published through an online magazine called the "Marketing
Scene".
