CAREER SUMMARY

Technical Expertise-Experienced in modeling, design, control and

identification of a variety of complex dynamic systems, a quick learner

and keeps update of the latest research trends; ability to work on

theoretical and computational projects as well as experiments for

validating models and developing ideas into products, and proficient in

Matlab/Simulink and dSpace ControlDesk.

Team Lead and Interdisciplinary Project Management Experience-Experienced

in organizing project goals, tracking project status, developing cost

effective solutions and decisions for research inventory and approach,

mentoring junior engineers and solving critical research problems, writing

technical papers, facilitating conversations in multidisciplinary groups,

and sharing ideas in order to develop, enhance and improve the efficiency

of the entire team.

ENGINEERING SKILLS

11) Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2) Matlab, Simulink, C/C++ 3) GAMBIT,

FLUENT, ANSYS and 4) dSpace ControlDesk, Labview

WORK EXPERIENCE

Research Associate Charlottesville, Virginia

University of Virginia (2010-present)

Modeling and Control Simulation for UVA T1DM Simulator: Developed

subcomponent models and performed simulations for the first T1DM simulator

approved by FDA which is based on MATLAB/SIMULINK. In furtherance, an

industrial insulin pump accuracy model was integrated.

Graduate Researcher (2004-2009)

Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Utah Salt Lake

City, Utah

Design and Analysis and Control for Air Handling System -Designed a control

algorithms using MATLAB/SIMULINK and integrated the dc servomotors,

butterfly valves and pitot sensors and dSpace Control Desk with an air

handling system. The control system and signal processing improved the rise

time by ~85%.

Graduate Researcher (2002-2004) Davis, California

Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, University of

California Davis

Modeling and Control of Suspensions for Off-road vehicles- Used bond graph

modeling for hydro-pneumatic suspension system for off-road vehicles and

simulated using ACSL. This resulted in reduction of ground acceleration to

5% of the original value. Application of controlled damping using magneto-

rheological (MR) dampers and LQR control strategy further isolated the high

frequency vibrations.

INDUSTRY

Design Engineer (2002)

MATHER & PLATT PUMPS LTD Pune, India

- Centrifugal pumps/ Double-Offset Butterfly Valves/ Vertical pumps for

offshore fluid transport: Developed component designs using PRO/Engineer,

checked assembly of the components and mechanism module of PRO/Engineer, to

verify interference. Guided draftsmen and worked with five engineers on

similar projects.

EDUCATION

Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, (2004-2009) GPA: 3.85/4

University of Utah (Salt Lake City, UT, USA) Specialization: Dynamics and

Control

M.S., Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, (2002- 2004) GPA:

3.73/4.00

University of California Davis (Davis, CA, USA)[pic]
