customer difficulties and questions, monitoring and reporting status of all
JKO sites, as well as compiling and reporting customer service data.
ISD, Courseware Developer producing web-based instructional materials in
support of JKDDC and JKO courses at the Joint Warfighting Center. Courses
developed cover a broad range of topics from technical to the full spectrum
of topics comprising Joint Military doctrine.
Instructional Systems Developer designing and editing presentation briefs
and seminars as well as producing printed training materials for various
Joint Warfighting Center training exercises and events. Most of this
involves collaboration with Observer/Trainers to create PowerPoint
presentations, which are then converted to PDF format, along with other
relevant material, to produce the printed material for each event.
ISD,Subject Matter Expert (SME),Technical Writer, and Editor responsible
for the content, format and graphic storyboards for each of the projects
summarized below. Much of this work involved researching and developing
in-house formatting standards to be used in product production.
Produced an instructor-based Aviation Maintenance Technician course in
compliance with Federal Aviation Administration requirements for
course certification. This was accomplished through the ISD process
from developing course and lesson objectives based on FAR Part 147
learning outcomes and learning levels, through the development and
production of instructor and student guides, as well as evaluation
materials and hands on practical exercises. The courseware was
produced in Microsoft Word.
Developed Personal Support System (PSS) consisting of operation and
maintenance courses Computer Based Training (CBT) courses and
Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) for USN Airborne Mine
Countermeasures equipment, and conducted classroom and hands-on
training for supported commands. Courseware development was
accomplished through the ISD process using customer supplied Technical
Course Control Documents (TCCD) Maintenance Plans, manufacturer's
engineering data and supply data. Lesson storyboards were developed
in Microsoft Word, which were then used to produce lessons in the CBT
authoring program (Mandarin with Flash plugins).
IETM development was accomplished using the same information as the
courseware, but to a greater detail in the principles of operation,
specific maintenance and repair tasks, as well as comprehensive parts
breakdown. Military Specification standards for technical manuals
were complied with and modified to fit the IETM format. The Naval Air
Technical Data and Engineering Service Command (NATEC) and user
commands approved all material through standard In Process Reviews.
Microsoft Front Page was used to produce IETMs. In all the above,
graphics storyboards were rendered electronically (digital
photographs, 2D, 3D, or animation) and specifically formatted, as
needed, to be compatible with the product requirements (Slides, CBT
display or printable IETM figures).

emergency situations, conducting fire drills, maintaining a computerized
activity log, key control, customer relations, managing lost and found
items, storage of patient valuables, investigation and reporting of
incidents (lost or stolen items, accidents, assaults, etc.) and disaster
response. Duties often required to assist nursing staff with unruly or
combative patients and visitors, which sometimes resulted in the use of
physical restraints. Additional responsibilities included managing and
coordinating the movement of bodies in and out the morgue facility. Much
of the work required the use of strong interpersonal skills to diffuse or
minimize situations in which patients and visitors acted out as a result of
being intoxicated, drugged, injured or just emotionally charged. Assisted
customers with vehicle-battery boosts, flat tires, and lockouts. All
personal interactions were handled in the most professional and courteous
manner possible.
