• Managed over seven feed plants in Sidoarjo, Sragen, Tangerang,
Cirebon, Lampung, Medan, and Serang with a total production of 1.2
million metric tons per annum. Japfa Comfeed had more than twenty
thousand employees in Indonesia and overseas operations.
• Centralized the technical functions of seven feed plants and
upgraded all processes by use of the highest, most progressive
technologies and thinking.
• Instituted standard operating procedures (SOP) that increased
consistency and quality of the product. This renovation of technology led
initial sales of 600,000 tons increased to 1 million tons in 5 years (even
through the Asian Economic Crisis).
• Improved the basic nutritional specifications through intuitive
researches as well as field trials of commercial scale to monitor the
product competitiveness. Research topics ranged from: amino acid
nutrition, interaction between heat stress and nutrient requirement, levels
of minerals and vitamins, and feed additives.
• On top of domestic business, I was consistently involved in the
global expansion of animal feed business in Myanmar, India, and Vietnam
as an advisor for feed formulation & technology.

• Started my own consulting company in the field of animal
nutrition and commodity trading based in Minnesota, USA.
• Consulting works had been arranged with Miwon, a sizable feed
company in Korea then, Miwon Subsidiary in Indonesia, and Japfa
Comfeed in Indonesia.
• Primary services to those companies were issues on feed
technology such as recommendations of nutrient requirements for various
domestic animals, quality control standards, analytical methods, and
research protocols.
• In addition, frequently visited the feed mills where the milling
process was observed and advised of better process control. Visited the
poultry and animal farms to interact with the farmers to give them hands-
on advice.
• Led to permanent job with Japfa Comfeed.

• Quickly promoted to VP during my years, and continued to have
broader responsibilities with Purchasing, Broiler Integration and Breeder
operations. Actively led poultry feed business’ least-cost formulation,
research, and total quality control.
• Working closely with breeder managers, we refined the breeder
feeding program to improve performance of hen-housed chicks from 125
to as high as 150.
• Strategically guided the broiler grow-out operation by rendering
technical services at the farm and by conducting frequently technical
seminars.
• By participating and eventually leading Corporate Research
Programs with other technical directors in Thailand, China, Taiwan,
Malaysia and Turkey, my international presence became more established.
• As the Director, Charoen Pokphand increased to 35% of the
market share in Indonesia with an average of 25% annual growth for five
consecutive years.
