laboratory to include MDI's to new instrumentation, implement new
applications, and train end users.
While in the Information Technology department, I have earned seven specialist certifications from Cerner Corp in Laboratory, Blood Bank,
Charge Services, Microbiology, Documentation, Architecture and Design and First Net Care.
Implemented Cerner System into a newly acquired clinic with success.
Have implemented new interfaces with two different chemistry platforms.

Responsible for all general duties of a medical technologist in a generalist position.
Transferred to IT department in 2005
As a technologist, I accepted the responsibility of the POC (Point of Care) system and reported to director of nursing on a monthly basis in
addition to the normal duties of an MT.
I was urged by the laboratory manager to apply to IT to transfer into IT to be the voice of the laboratory. Accepted the challenge and
transferred to IT in 2005
3/1999 - 7/2003 - Christus Spohn Hospital Alice, Alice, Texas
Director of Laboratory
Oversee the laboratory day to day functions. Responsible for the budget, and the preparation for JCAHO inspections. Staff hiring and
terminations joint decision between the HR department and the director position.
Following an unfavorable inspection, the Respiratory Department was assigned to me. With that responsibility, the staff and I redesigned the
department to be better staffed, better supplied, and better run. With the approval of new instrumentation, the testing was moved into the
laboratory where controls and maintenance was guaranteed to be fulfilled as recommended by manufacturer. This move although unpopular
in the beginning reaped a 96% JCAHO the following inspection.
