Test Specialist
The Finance Source team is responsible for upgrading and maintaining the
Dealer facing site and all its related applications used by Volkswagen and
Audi Dealers in US and Canada. Agile Methodology is being used making way
for iterative development in the project. Testing is planned and executed
based on continuous integration, story-driven business cases, and adaptive
planning.
Projects:
1) FinanceSource - The legacy Dealer facing application that is used for
funding Credits for customers through VW and Audi dealers.
2) Oxlo - This project involved connecting our FinanceSource application
to the Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for faster user experience.
3) QuickFund - This would enable the Dealers to receive funds for a
transaction within 24hours, making a funding happen as fast as
possible.
4) FS Portal - This project replaced the legacy FinanceSource which runs
on Classic ASP to an application aimed to run on .Net with the Credit
and Funding systems being upgraded to a third party vendor, FiServ.
5) Vertex - This is a tax call made through the back end systems to get
the tax rates based on Geo Codes. Back-end testing was used to support
this project.
Responsibilities:
> Planned and set up a Testing Process for the Finance Source Portal by
introducing a Version control tool (VSS) in Quality Center and
regulating both the Manual and Automated testing process .
> Created a Test Strategy for all of the projects.
> Involved in analyzing Stories with BAs and Developers in Daily/Weekly
Review meetings
> Created Test Scripts based on the Stories created by the BAs in
Quality Center.
> Executed the Test Scripts for Functional Testing once the stories were
ready and sent it back to the developers if defects were found.
> Performed Regression Testing after each Story is done to confirm if
other functionalities from previous stories are working fine and also
after each build.
> Defects were identified, logged into Quality Center for review and
reference.
> Conducted Data Driven Testing using QTP for a complicated series of
functionalities involving 2 applications where data is entered in one
application and the 2nd application is checked for the same data.
> Created User-defined functions to enhance the QTP scripts for better
efficiency.
> Created QTP scripts for XML driven application, Vertex.

This Project involves InterLink, an application with 2 sub categories,
Encompass and Deerbrook. InterLink is used by Allstate agencies for issuing
policies on any combination of Auto, Property and WaterCraft by entering
the details taken from the customer. QTP was used to develop a Data driven
testing for this application, by using a single script with reusable
actions for all the states, with some state specific changes made as
necessary.
Responsibilities:
> Developed scripts using Quick Test Pro (Expert view) for InterLink
application, accessed using BrowserClient (Web-based interface to the
InterLink application.)
> Enhanced the QTP scripts developed for HTML browser to work with XML
browser.
> Developed User defined functions to enhance the script performance.
> Conducted Data driven testing using automated scripts developed with
QTP and executed around 350 test cases (Policies) to check for errors.
> Used SQL queries in the script for accessing data regarding the
policies from the database.
> Validated Test Results by cross checking the Actual results (Issued or
Do Not Bind) from running a test case for each policy with the
Expected results from the functional team.
> Maintained and Updated the Automation scripts (script error
debugging).
> Mapped Data to be used in the application in MS Excel, based on the
table and column name in the database that the data belonged to.
> Imported the Data from Excel to SQL Server using a VBscript function.
