Mortgage Loan Originator Duties - CalPERS Member Home Loan Program
Affiliate
As a professional loan originator, I need to be able to work as a team
member with a variety of people. I need to develop marketing
strategies and networking techniques in order to generate business.
As a loan originator, I have been doing these things for over 7
years. I have worked with consumers to get them credit approved,
built a trust between the borrower and myself, come alongside realtors
to build a working relationship and consummate real estate purchase
transactions, assisted processing and underwriting staff members of my
company in gathering needed documents, educated home buyers throughout
the process, and worked with team members to navigate through the
difficult steps to achieve a successful conclusion.
BUSINESS OWNER 04/1993 - 03/2004
A-1 Business Supplies
Riverside, CA
New and Used Office Furniture Business - Retail Warehouse Store
I ran a profitable business for 11 years. I started with humble
beginnings as a used office furniture and equipment business in my
garage. It grew steadily over the years and I acquired new space as
needed to accommodate additional inventory until I had a 28,500 sq ft
retail store. In order to achieve this I had to market myself and
network with consumers, and the community, in order to generate retail
sales growth.
As the business evolved I added new products to the used inventory on
my floor. Working with various vendors, I ordered new products and
arranged for delivery to the store. I managed up to ten employees to
facilitate the ongoing business of shipping and receiving, accounting,
payroll, and office space planning.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT 08/1989 - 04/1993
Hughes Aircraft (Formerly General Dynamics)
Rancho Cucamonga & Pomona, CA
Aerospace Manufacturer-Missile Systems Division
This was a job which required a variety of tasks to actually get to
the end results needed by the company. In order to accomplish this
goal, I needed to work with other staff to acquire the raw data to
assimilate in my reports. When I started, there was no computer model
to calculate and generate various burden center rates needed for
pricing their products, and charging the government for capital
expenditures. It was very laboriously done by hand which took a lot
time, and caused unnecessary delays. I designed a program to take
capitalized assets and schedule them out by asset class for
depreciation purposes. I reported not only the rates for each product
line by burden center, I also reviewed all of the accounting work
orders (AWOs) for capital expenditures and capitalized them, in order
to generate the actual and forecast reports as needed. The Defense
Contract Audit Agency liked this computer model well enough to install
it on their computers in order to test the validity of the data
submitted to them. Ultimately this resulted in reimbursement to the
company for capital expenditures made to test and manufacture the
military weapons systems they built.
