534 B East Main Street

Blue Ridge, GA

April, 2010 - Current

My husband and I are the owner of a small retail store in downtown Blue

Owner/Operator The Wild

World of Sports

The Outback Antiques

Penlands Mercantile

Ellijay, GA 30540

December 2006 - January 2009

We opened this store in downtown Ellijay on North Avenue. I worked with my

husband until August and then I took on the books and management of The

Outback Antique Mall on River Street. I split my time between the two. In

May of 2007 the owner of the property on River Street began remodeling the

buildings. I over saw the complete renovation, verified work and paid

employees and contract labor. When it was done, we moved our store over to

River Street and also opened Penlands Mercantile. The Mercantile was an

old fashioned country store featuring old time charm and gourmet foods.

Owner/Operator The

Sports Exchange, Inc.

Pelham, AL 35124

January 1993 to October 2006

This was our sporting goods store we sold in October 2006 to move here to

the Georgia mountains. We specialized in golf and fitness and expanded

three times increasing our square footage from 800 sq. feet to over 6,000

sq. feet. As an owner/operator of a small business I did some of

everything. Everything includes: sales, marketing, purchasing, payroll,

taxes and anything else that needed to be done. Though we had only one

store we successfully competed against some very strong competitors

including large franchises, box stores and corporations selling the same

items. None of our competitors could beat us at customer service, product

knowledge and prompt response to customer needs. I worked full time

starting in June 2002.
