in Hampton, VA’s history.

Administered $2M+ grand opening year budget as part of $300M redevelopment project from

mall to town center.

Acted as property spokesperson for majority of television interviews (live and taped) during grand

opening year.

Developed and hosted an exclusively licensed live promotional event. Coordinated program

components with advertising agency and media staff to draw crowds in excess of 6,000 attendees

driving average sales increases of more than 25% on event days.

Initiated and managed the development of company property to serve as host location for local

Red Cross disaster relief center following Hurricane Isabel. Coordinated public services including

utilities and security and community services to meet the food and shelter needs of more than

100 families during disaster recovery.

Created, presented to ownership and implemented annual marketing plans and budgets for more

than thirteen years. Achieved marketing goals in spite of substantially decreasing budgets by

initiating creative opportunities (e.g. bartering, co-op programs) to leverage expenses.

Launched first, all-store shopping center gift card program in the state of VA to combat shopper

Contracted with radio and television stations to stage a fundraising event to collect food for

Thanksgiving distribution to needy families. More than 50 tons of donations collected.

Planned, executed and coordinated all elements of gala events during 25th anniversary celebration

($300K budget). Researched talent agents, obtained media coverage, involved merchants and

security to host and promote celebrity guest appearances from Richard Simmons, Jeff Gordon and

Willard Scott.

Launched highly successful annual Business Improvement District holiday parade as an original

member of the marketing sub-committee. Coordinated media publicity to boost participation

and community involvement. Parade budget, size and caliber grew over 100% by third year.

Persuaded ownership to subsidize the marketing budget with an additional $150K to fund the

development, promotion and execution of an exclusive licensed event (and attending PR) that

positioned the company as a thriving shopping center to offset community rumors.

Provided customized marketing support to failing merchants and their Regional Managers
