almost exclusively since 1985 and have used several CAD programs with
Autocad being the primary for the last 15 years. I have also used Autodesk
Land Development Desktop 3, Microstation V8, Coreldraw, Adobe, GTGS and the
full line of Microsoft products. I have worked on several BART and Port of
Oakland projects. I was also the Computer coordinator for the office at CDM
Federal as well as a CAD system manager at Zehntel(1986-1989), and had
responsibility to maintain both software and hardware.
Relevant Experience
State Disability Insurance 12/2009-
1/2011
Had a temporary disability in my legs which is completely healed now. I am
ready to get to work.
HQE
7/2007-5/2009
Worked on the Bart Earthquake Program using Autocad 2007. I was
responsible for drawing setup and maintaining Bart standards throughout the
course of the project as well as both civil and utility drawing for HQE's 3
separate contracts. I also used Microstation V8 in support of several
roadwork projects.
JJ Professional Services 5/2005-
11/2006
Worked for various engineering companies using Autocad and LDD. Worked on
survey maps, utility drawings, topo maps, etc.
Bechtel Corporation, San Francisco, CA 3/2004-4/2005
I was a Senior Designer for the New Doha International Airport. My
responsibilities on this project included airside runway lighting layout as
well as working with other designers on the civil areas including airfield
geometrics, paving, striping, and grading and drainage plans. Though I was
initially hired as a senior civil designer, my work entailed as much
electrical as civil. Developed the electrical drawing set for the runway-
taxiway lighting as well as all the apron lighting per ICAO standards. I
was also responsible for the formatting of drawing package design which
complied with the project specifications as well as Bechtel and AIA
standards. This project utilized Autocad as the main software with a small
amount of Microstation.
URS Corporation, San Francisco, CA 6/2000-3/20
I worked on a wide variety of projects, primarily civil and geotechnical
with some structural. Responsibilities had included some project management
for the CADD group as well as coordinating the drawing sets with various
engineers in various disciplines. These had included a groundwater
treatment plant for the Port of Oakland for the new Intermodal Terminal at
the old Oakland Army Terminal, Rincon Park (a small municipal park in
downtown S.F.), the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Marin and the Chevron
Chemical Stormwater segregation project at Richmond. Paving & Grading,
utility placement as well as construction drawings were components of most
of these drawing sets. Land Development Desktop 2i as well as Autocad 2002
was the primary software used in all these projects.
Charles Salter Associates, San Francisco, CA 1/2000-6/2000
During the time I was at Charles Salter, I worked almost exclusively with
architectural clients who were adding audio-visual electrical systems to
their projects. HIworked with architectural backgrounds that were mostly
client-supplied and overlaid the systems and equipment as designated by the
engineers. There was also some work in the acoustical and environmental
(noise) areas of Salter Associates that required some mapping and
diagramming of "areas of concern".
Brown & Caldwell, Pleasant Hill, CA
1999
While working for Contract Services at Brown & Caldwell, I was involved in
the design and documentation of a forced main storm drain running from the
580/680 interchange area of central Alameda county to the bay for the
Livermore-Amador Valley Water Agency. The work involved researching
existing utilities and other pipelines in the immediate area of the
proposed new construction as well as detailing out the Caltrans property
that would need to be crossed in the construction of the pipeline. Some
light structural detailing of the pumping station area was also involved.
J.T. Warren & Associates, Oakland, CA
1998-1999
Worked exclusively on Port of Oakland projects at J.T. Warren. I worked
with people at Holmes & Narver on the Joint Intermodal Rail Terminal
project and he also worked on the roadway extension associated with the
Ports Vision 2000 rework of the property adjacent to the present and future
container terminals. My responsibility here was to work closely with the
engineer on the drainage plans, profiles and details.
ICF Kaiser Engineers, Oakland, CA 1998
Using Autocad 14, my primary responsibility at ICF Kaiser had been aiding
the civil engineers on the Oakland Airport Roadway Project. This project
consisted of completely redesigning the many access roads into the main
Oakland Airport facility. I worked on all aspects of the project from
drainage, layout, stage construction, pavement delineation and signage, and
utility drawings. I also worked with the TERC group which was responsible
for a $10,000,000 federal environmental contract with the Army Corps of
Engineers. This contract consisted of various work orders from military
facilities throughout the western U.S. The work was primarily mapping and
geotechnical work including cross-sections and the posting of sampling
data. Also aided other work groups (i.e. structural, transportation, etc.)
when deadlines needed to be met.
Bay Area Rapid Transit District, Oakland, CA 1997 - 1998
While working at BART for Western Staff Services, I used R13 and R14 to
organize large contract sets of drawing to be released to the public as
part of their bid and construction work. These contracts, from 10 to 150
pages, were collections of drawings modified to show the changes from
existing facilities to the proposed upgrades and remodels. I also worked
on many Engineering Change orders in several fields including civil,
electrical, electro-mechanical and structural.
Uribe and Associates, Oakland, CA 1995 - 1997
I used Autocad 12 initially and then Autocad 14 to support RI/FS operations
at both the Port of oakland and Hunter's Point Naval Shipyard. I also

assisted in the In-Home Survey at OII and have 40-hour Health and Safety
training for field work. Used Coreldraw as an additional tool for
illustration for reports for the various field activities and oversight at
OII. I also used Project and Access to track deliverables and to monitor
for EPA the documentation between various contractors and the PRPs
