While working on a particularly difficult repair job several years ago, I
spoke with my boss at 8:00 in the evening - well past quitting time - and
told him about the situation. He suggested I go home and work on it the
next day, but I knew it would cause problems for the restaurant staff if I
didn't take care of it that evening. So instead of leaving, I clocked out
and stayed for another hour until the job was done.
That has always been my work style: do whatever is needed to get the job
done, and done right. As a Stationary Engineer for a large public school, I
am responsible for all mechanical operations. This includes inspections and
preventive / emergency maintenance on a variety of equipment, including
HVAC systems. My background also includes working as a Service Technician
and Central Plant Engineer.
I also offer a bachelor's degree in Leadership and Management and I have
demonstrated the ability to work with people at all levels throughout my
career. My style is laid back but very focused. I am a good listener and I
treat people with respect, but when there is a problem, nobody has to tell
me to take care of things. In addition, when I see someone handling a
particularly difficult job I take the initiative to step in and offer
assistance.
My goal is to merge my two strengths: technical expertise and management
training. If you have an opening for a hard working professional with
strong problem solving skills, a proven work ethic, and the know-how to
manage operations and promote teamwork, I would like to meet with you for a
personal interview at your convenience. Thank you for your time and
consideration.
Sincerely,
Danny Mayes
