Corrosion Reduction Team.

. Established a series of initiatives to save over a quarter of a million

. Performed material selection and specification of base metal, heat

treatment and coating of metallic components for approximately 60

steering and engine management systems.

. Eliminated substances of concern (i.e. hexavalent chromium and cadmium

from coatings) from Powertrain components, for al products developed at

the Mexico Technical Center.

. Developed heat treatment specification of approximately 24 Steering and

Powertrain components including steering racks, half shafts, columns,

gears, and shafts.

. Conducted approximately 120 laboratory analyses in average per year;

including approximately 36 failure investigations on fractured components

including heat treated components.

. Conducted supplier and materials development overseas for the steering

division (Spain, Korea, Japan, and India).
