Consumer Risk Director (MIS). JPMorgan Chase is one of the largest financial institutions in North America. Recruited

as a change agent to drive automation and transform the portfolio performance reporting function in order to control and

mitigate operational losses. Achievements include :

Building a BI / MIS Team ; initially managed four Risk Management staff, but responsibilities quickly

expanded to include the Risk Operations MIS Team – an additional sixteen employees. The current Team now

supports 5,000 staff in both the Consumer Banking Risk Management & Risk Operations organizations

Automating Risk reporting ; the reporting function comprises both strategic Risk Management and tactical

Risk Operations analysis. Significant manual effort was required to produce a wide range of reports & analytics,

which has been transformed with the introduction of automated (SAS BI / Futrix) solutions for senior

Executives and Managers, displaying mission-critical KPIs (updated daily). Relevant information now flows

automatically & seamlessly on a daily basis from upstream data silos to intuitive end-user Dashboards (currently

800 users, 500 Manager sessions daily)

Regular & ad-hoc reporting / analytics ; customized and ad-hoc reports for Executive Management are now

produced within seconds, including detailed staff productivity analytics & Scorecards. Resource-intensive

processes have been eliminated, and the automation & analysis of regular reporting has driven productivity

improvements and significant headcount reductions across multiple LOBs. MIS Team skills have been enhanced

to quickly & efficiently produce ad-hoc requests & analyses

Operating loss budget & forecast ; the MIS Team is responsible for compiling the annual Net Operating Loss

budget and ongoing forecasting, which in 2007 - 2009 was accurate to within one percent

Data repositories ; raw data feeding automation efforts was housed in disparate Systems, involving numerous

incompatible technologies. Drove the business case & obtained approval for a $1M server project to house

summarized data & cubes (SAS / Futrix), making access to & delivery of data seamless to a wide audience

May 2004 to January 2006 :

Marketworks Inc, Atlanta, GA

Business Intelligence Product Manager. Marketworks (now Channel Advisor) was the leading provider of sales

automation software and marketing services for multi-channel online selling, and eBay's largest Preferred Solution

Provider. Marketworks broadened the scope of its infrastructure to include multi-channel selling capabilities, creative and

marketing services, and channel outsourcing. Achievements included:

Product Management/Marketing (BI) ; drive business requirements and work closely with Development

staff to implement. Conduct frequent presentations to top clients to validate & evangelize a new BI solution

Business Intelligence and Performance Reporting ; build the new BI solution for all Marketworks’

clients, greatly enhancing the current product offering. Includes dashboard/report design, KPI definition, Order

Management, Customer, Inventory and Channel Management modules. Research CRM solutions (Netsuite,

Salesforce) and produce CRM requirements documentation

Website Analytics ; implement a site analytics solution (Omniture) for the Corporate site and 200 client

sites. Enhance client performance and customer conversion rates to improve profitability

Client Consulting ; advise clients on customer marketing opportunities and operational efficiencies

July 2000 to October 2002 :

Silicon Summit Technologies (SST), Burlingame, CA

Director of Product Management (Business Intelligence). SST built an ASP transaction processing service for

institutional brokerages in the equity markets, which involved linking Buy-side and Sell-side institutions through a

Financial Information Exchange (FIX) protocol engine and Order Management Software (OMS). Achievements

included :

Product Management/Marketing (BI) ; manage and prioritize business requirements for an on-line client

information service. Design the content and structure of critical reports to be of maximum benefit to clients.

Design interface & build a wide repository of pre-defined reports

Business consulting ; develop a business information consulting service to clients

Sales forecasting & financial analysis ; develop pricing models and analyze the impact on sales and

revenues

(client) perspective. Identify, prioritize, document and implement enhancements based on client requirements

and feedback. Work closely with technical staff/developers to drive forward client requirements within budget &

ensuring on-time delivery. Work closely with QA to ensure the accuracy of enhancements. Central expert

Consulting ; frequent interaction with financial institutions to improve their business performance, the

effectiveness of marketing plans, reduction of exceptional items, and to advise on business issues

Sales & Marketing ; compile, manage and implement regional marketing plans, with frequent Regional

interface and support. Presentations to senior Visa staff and Executive management at financial institutions to

evangelize and sell the Solution Series solutions. Work closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure accurate and

consistent product messaging regarding functionality and benefits

Training & customer support ; work with internal business development and external client staff to train users

of the software. Work closely with business development to maintain excellent client relationships

Head of Data Validation (1991) : Ensure the accuracy of Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) member information on

the Visa International corporate database. Achievements included :

Consulting ; provide detailed Member performance information to internal staff for use in EMEA projects.

Introduce and implement the Regional Information Center concept to EMEA, utilizing the Visa International

corporate database. Central expert resource within Visa EMEA for all Member reporting

Marketing & implementation ; ensure the successful marketing and smooth implementation of a major

technical project, involving contact with (and supporting) Visa EMEA's financial institutions, verifying their

technical/business details, and liaising with Visa USA to automate a billing process for the EMEA region

Staff management ; mentor a small team on this effort

Training ; responsibility for training EMEA staff on the information center database

Represent EMEA on the Worldwide Database Steering Committee, formed to obtain regional agreement on

database enhancements and improving processes & procedures. Membership of this Committee based upon

expert knowledge of Visa's business and of internal EMEA requirements

Divisional Account Executive (1989) : manage and enhance a divisional reporting function on a 'one-point-of-contact'

approach. Represent EMEA on business trips to the US Region, ensuring EMEA Regional requirements are implemented.

Subsequent visits involve training on relational database principles and programming language techniques (SQL).

Coordinate the divisional budget, manage a decision support projects and compile business models (examples included a

cost/benefit scenario for potential new Members banks and a major review of the pricing structure for the U.K. market)

Senior Management Information Analyst (1987) : comprehensive statistical analysis and reporting. Publish a monthly

Business Activity Report, the sole source of performance metrics for the EMEA region. The distribution list for this report

comprised Visa Executive management worldwide. Compile detailed reports for quarterly Board meetings and for

Advisers’ meetings (Executive management of large banks). Frequent liaison with all LOBs on data projects and ad-hoc

requests for information. Ensure the accuracy and relevance of information within the EMEA region.
