Responsibilities include: Minimize damage packages by
indentifying the root causes of damage, creating damage
reduction plans and implementing programs based on these
plans. Programs include customer education and packaging
improvement efforts, proper package acceptance and handling
awareness, damage claims inspections and management
information reports. Currently the lead on all Packaging
Sustainability Programs for FedEx and a member of the
Sustainable Packaging Coalition.

Developing short and long term strategies to support FedEx
Freight- which includes design freight testing
specifications, purchase testing equipment and facilities
to support these applications.

minimum packaging required for safe transit. This
eliminates overpacking and reduces shipping costs for FedEx

Participated in the development of a material-handling
device to move non-palletized oversized freight through
sort operations without damage.
Developed service packaging for major automotive customers
to improve performance; parts includes hoods, doors,
engines, transmissions and windshields. Was the lead team
member in the development of a training video for handling
and loading automotive parts in the express environment

developing cost reduction strategies from a supplier base.

Completed a study for returnable containers in various
assembly operations.
Developed corporate agreements with suppliers.
Saved $250,000 on packaging change for Copper Tubing.
Purchased returnable containers ($300,000 savings) in
labor, packaging materials and disposal costs.
Developed and implemented JIT inventory system by
utilizing new MRP system and logistics.
Trained in Kazian, the Japanese concept of one piece flow,
JIT and Value Analysis.
Featured in the June '93 issue of Purchasing
Magazine.

Responsibilities included: all areas of packaging from
purchasing materials, supplies and equipment to working

redesigning packaging for wiper arm and blades.
Saved $30,000/yr. and increased packaging rate 50% by
switching to
automated bagging equipment from folding cartons.
Reduced interplant shipping costs by implementing and
purchasing returnable containers.
QUALITY
Redesigned and standardized Ford Service Packaging
reducing costs in material & shipping.
Rewrote packaging sheets used in Mexico assembly
operations.
