As a Contracts Analyst, I work in Provider Contracting which is a
subdivision of the Legal Department at Oklahoma Health Care Authority
(OHCA). Job duties include performing a wide range of administrative
responsibilities which include analyzing contracts and other documentation
confirming grammatical accuracy and the inclusion of all pertinent language
and information. Updating contracts to include or exclude changes in
Federal or State rules and regulations. Managing and maintaining Provider
information databases to ensure data is up-to-date and accurately
reflecting current and correct information.
Processing Provider contracts in a timely manner in order to meet monthly
deadlines, ensuring the safety and privacy of all state government
documents that contain confidential information such as SSN's, Banking
information, Health Provider ID numbers etc. Analyzing Provider
credentials, verifying provider information, licenses, and certifications
to make sure they are current and up to date. Answering phones and taking
Provider calls assisting them with questions regarding the completion of
their contract applications and giving them status updates during the
processing stage. Building and Maintaining close provider relationships.
Providing information to individuals whom are interested in enrolling as a
Provider for Oklahoma Medicaid.
Duties further include the handling of all Single Case Agreements with Out
of State Providers who are administering care to only one single Oklahoma
Medicaid member. Working with care management and finance teams to
determine the rate at which the Providers are to be paid.
Characteristics of this position must include excellent time management
skills, great human relations skills, technical skills including the use of
data bases, word processing, excel spreadsheets when needed, office
equipment and the ability to be a self-starter and work on one's own
everyday without consistent direct supervision.
