Baxter Healthcare Corporation - Mountain Home, AR 2002 - Present

Principal Engineer

Steer validation activities of processes and equipment within a medical

device manufacturing facility utilizing statistical analysis, risk

assessment, and qualification plans to comply with FDA regulations.

Coordinate Quality Engineers and Validation Technicians for continuous

improvement projects and new process / equipment installations. Teach and

mentor Quality Engineers and Validation Technicians in use of statistical,

Lean, and Six Sigma tools and methods. Lead and interface with cross-

functional teams in development of corporate procedures, product

specifications, plant standard operating procedures, and standard work.

Achievements:

. Leading project for the installation of the first production machining

process in the company which will result in a reduction of supply chain

risk, additional core competency within the facility, and an annual

savings of approximately $850,000.

. Led creation of the first vertical value stream in the plant of the

validation process which resulted in the elimination of waste in the

process which reduced validation time by 43%. Led the integration of the

vertical value stream for Engineering's design process and the management

of key plant projects.

. Led Blackbelt projects, Kaizen events, and validations for injection

molding, manual and automated assembly, product packaging and sealing,

material flow, and CAPA processes including the integration of new

technologies to the facility such as thermal imaging with ultrasonic

welding, flow wrapping, and solid state RF sealing.

. Led implementation of standard work for the plant's benchmarking process,

risk management process, validation documentation process, and various

equipment and process validation procedures.

. Led implementation of strategic planning process and trained management

on strategic planning tools.

. Led project for the justification and removal of CO2 Gas Testing process

that resulted in an annual savings of approximately $250,000.

. Only non-management employee in the plant to achieve the Baxter Quality

Professional Award (2004).

Paul Mueller Company - Springfield, MO 1999 - 2001

Construction Engineer/Project Engineer/Estimator

Led all site activities and coordination between the company, contractors,

and customer for field construction projects, including earthwork, building

and tank erection, and process piping systems. Establish project plans

consisting of schedules, milestones, and construction sequence for field

projects and executed according to the project plan by creating standard

work, reporting structure, metrics, cost and inventory controls, resource

allocations, supply chain management, and periodic quality audits.

Estimated and provided quotes to all customers for a region in support of

the sales group.

Achievements:

. Implemented methods of sequenced construction for multiple process tank

projects based upon standard work, lean equipment design, and process

flow for construction efficiencies to maximize profitability.

. Passed the State General Contractor's Exam in support of a General

Contractor's License for the company to work in the state of Florida.

. Determined root cause and created a simple retrofit solution for a 30+

year old tank that previously could not be solved to save the customer in

cost and production downtime related to full replacement.

United Parcels Service (UPS) - Rolla, MO 1997 - 1999

Operations Management Specialist/Local Sort & Preload Supervisor

Supervised the loading of delivery trucks and trailers and the delivery of

packages to customers for a rural hub consisting of 21 - 34 delivery routes

based upon seasonal fluctuations.

Achievements:

. Consistently exceeded standards set by Industrial Engineering by

developing improved training methods integrated with standard work,

visual management, cross-training, and employee empowerment.

. A part of a class semester project, created a database to track employee

and hub metrics and utilized reports to determine and implement

improvements.
